The SMOCS project "Stochastic Models for Complex Systems" (PRIN 2017, Project no. 2017JFFHSH) has been devoted to the development of mathematical methodologies (both analytical and numerical) in order to describe the behavior and the evolution of a complex system whose behavior is uncertain and may be conveniently described in the language of Probability.

Stochastic models are nowadays ubiquitous in science, but sometimes they are built under strong assumptions that may limit their use in applications. In this project, we have focused on the study of stochastic systems in order to relax some usual assumptions such as Gaussianity or Markovianity.

The final meeting of SMOCS project aims at bringing together researchers and scientists interested in the last developments of complex systems, with particular emphasis on copula theory and dependence, reliability theory, evolutionary models, semi-Markov models, and neural networks.

The event will take place in person from May 18th to May 19th, 2023, at Sala Rettorato, piazza Tancredi 7, Lecce (Italy).
