School Management

The Board of Management of our school is appointed by our Patron - the Most Reverend Dr Paul Connell, Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois. It is recognised by the Minister for Education, Ms Helen McEntee, T.D., as defined by Section 14 of the Education Act, 1998.

The Board of Management is the backbone of our school. It is comprised of patron, teacher, parent and community nominees. The Board of Management’s main function is to manage the school, on behalf of the Patron, for the benefit of the pupils.

The Board of Management of St Mary’s N.S. plays an important role in the life of the school and supports the school in every way.

St Mary’s N.S. has a committed and dedicated Board of Management that promotes the well-being of the school and supports the Principal and staff with the day-to-day running of the school. 

The Board of Management 

• is appointed for a four year term.

• holds regular meetings in a school year (minimum 5).

• can be contacted, by letter, through the school office.

• ratifies all school policies.

• is affiliated to the C.P.S.M.A.

• provides an agreed report after each meeting (see Agreed Reports)
