Beginning of School Day
The school day for children begins at 9:30a.m. sharp.
Children in Junior and Senior Infants assemble in our school hall each morning and are supervised by teachers there. Staff are outside the entrance door to our school hall to assist.
Children from 1st to 6th Class enter the school grounds through the green gate which is on the left-hand side of the main gate. They go to the playground area where they wait in their designated area to be collected by their teacher. In the interests of school security, we respectfully ask that adults do not accompany children to the playground area.
Children attending Suaimhneas Mhuire classes assemble at the external door of their classroom.
The green gate and entrances to the school will be locked shortly after the school day begins. Children who are late must enter the school through the main entrance. Latecomers are recorded by our secretary.
The Board of Management and the staff of St Mary’s N.S. does not accept responsibility for children before the official opening time of 9:30a.m. The only exception to this is when extra-curricular activities have been approved by the Board of Management.
