The Department of Education introduced the Primary Schoolbooks Scheme in 2023.

The scheme is a welcome initiative and removes the cost from families of buying schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks for their children in primary school.

Please note the following important points.

• Schoolbooks, workbooks and copybooks will be provided free to every child at the start of the school year.

• All schoolbooks remain the property of our school and are on loan to children.

• Children will be allowed to bring schoolbooks home in order to complete homework and to allow parents to stay connected with their child’s learning in school. 

• It is very important that children and their parents ensure that schoolbooks are taken care of and kept in good condition so they can be used again by another child.

• The schoolbooks must be returned at the end of the school year, or if the child leaves the school.
