Established in 1992, St. Mary Magdalene Learning Centre was a private pre-school that catered to the the children of neighbors and members of the Looc community. It was the realization of a dream of a family of educators and community servants. The mission and vision then, is as it is now--To mold children in the likeness of Jesus and to create citizens who will be valuable, contributing members of society.
Leonilo Realon (+) and Anacleta Realon (+) spearheaded the start of the pre-school on the first floor of their home. There were a handful of students and the focus was reading and mathematics. At the end of that school year, they were urged to offer primary levels as well in order to accommodate the new batch of graduates.
As the school continued to grow, another sibling, Celia B.R. Realon left her government job in order to help with the growing demand of further improving and adding grade levels to the school. True to its Vision and Mission of producing graduates who are in the likeness of Jesus Christ, another sibling, Rev. Mo. Ma. Concepcion R. Realon, MSOLF (+) functioned as the school's spiritual directress.
Three decades since it's inception and formation, St. Mary Magdalene Academy, now known as St. Mary Magdalene Colleges of Laguna has grown to support education from Pre-school to college. This is currently done through the support of and in collaboration with the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima.
