We sell quality small square hay bales in the western Finger Lakes region of New York state
The hay year started off very slow after a late frost and dry conditions set back growth. Rainy weather later made it hard to dry the hay. But the rain helped growth rebound and there has been some good hay drying weather in between.
Starting in 2024, we will more than double our hay acres, but will take a couple of years to get everything tilled, planted, and growing at full capacity.
Never rained on and stored inside (unless noted)
Mostly Timothy grass with some Orchard grass, Alfalfa, and other native grasses
Low weeds, but not 100% weed free
Small square bales about 45 lbs each
Note: We are seeing more weeds in the hay this year due to late frosts that set back grass growth. Our goal is to sort the most weedy hay into the cattle quality group.
