Issue 00 - September 1978 - Prototype Issue

In October 1978 a new magazine was launched entitled 'Smash Hits'. Initially being released on a monthly bases before going fortnightly in February 1979, the magazine was aimed at a growing young population that wanted information and gossip on their favourite artists of the day.

The magazine was unique as it included song lyrics to songs that were in the charts.

In September 1978 the very first issue was printed in Limited Quantity's for test marketing purposes.

This has become to be known as the Prototype Issue and here is that very issue.
