Effective 18 October 2026Â Version 1.6.2
Smart Video Dubber helps viewers translate video captions and listen to synchronized dubbing. This policy explains what the extension processes when its features are used.
Data used by the extension
The extension reads subtitles, captions and video playback information on pages where it runs to align speech with the video. It stores selected languages, voices, playback settings and interface preferences in the browser's local extension storage.
External services
When translation is needed, the extension sends subtitle text and source and target language codes to Google Translate (translate.googleapis.com). When a cloud natural voice is used, it sends text to be spoken and voice settings to Microsoft's speech service (speech.platform.bing.com) to obtain audio. It may request subtitle content from YouTube and Google video endpoints. Those providers may apply their own privacy practices.
The settings and guide pages load Google Fonts. The Ko-fi link opens only if a user chooses it.
Developer handling
The extension does not send video text, generated audio, settings or browsing activity to a server operated by the extension publisher. It does not contain analytics or advertising code.
Retention and controls
Settings remain in browser local storage until changed or removed with the extension. Translation and speech responses are used during playback and may be cached in memory during a browser session. External service retention is governed by those providers.
You can stop dubbing in the player, change language or voice, disable the extension, or remove it from your browser.
