• Purpose: The App requires Camera access to perform its primary function: scanning physical documents.

• Privacy: All document detection and image capture happen in real-time on your device. We never record or store video/audio. The camera is only active while you are actively scanning. ⚡

🖼️ B. Image and Media Access (Privacy-Safe)

• In strict compliance with Google Play’s Photo and Video Permissions policy, SmartScan AI does not request broad access to your entire photo library.

• Android Photo Picker: If you choose to import an existing image, we use the secure system Android Photo Picker. 🛡️

• Security: This ensures our App only sees the specific photos you manually select. We have zero access to the rest of your private media.

💾 C. Local File Processing

• On-Device: All cropping, perspective correction, and PDF generation happen locally on your phone. 📱

• Storage: Scanned images and generated PDFs are saved in your App’s private storage.

• No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload your documents to our servers. Your scans are only shared if you manually choose to do so via the system "Share" menu. 🚫☁️

2. 📢 Third-Party Services (Advertising)

• To keep SmartScan AI free for everyone, we display advertisements via Google AdMob.

• AdMob may collect data such as your IP address, device identifiers, and advertising IDs to show relevant ads.

• Your Choice: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads in your Android device settings. ⚙️

3. 🔐 Data Security

We implement commercially acceptable security standards to protect your data. Since your documents are stored locally, they remain under your physical control.

• Private Directories: We use cacheDir and getExternalFilesDir, which are sandboxed and isolated from other apps. 🏗️

4. 👶 Children’s Privacy

SmartScan AI does not target anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we discover a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it immediately. 🚫

5. ✅ Permissions Summary

• For transparency, here are the only permissions we use:

• Camera: To scan your documents.

• Internet/Network State: To load advertisements.

• NO Storage Permissions: We do not use READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. We use the privacy-compliant Photo Picker instead. 🙅‍♂️📁
