i have a dahua 1104-P NVR with 2 connected cameras, recording the entrance of a domain -24/24 hour (loop) . Liveview on my windows 10 PC or on my iphone is no problem . However i just discovered than i can no longer playback the recorded video on my PC even though it works initially when the NVR was put in place more than 1 year ago. The videos are there since i can see the green bars appearing at the bottom of the playback screen after selecting a period and searching the last 24 hours for instance , but if i want to select and see the pictures between let'say 11 and 12 pm on the green bar , then i have a message on the screen saying :retrieving the first picture or searching playback now ... and then nothing .

Every time I try to access video playback from the DVR directly on PSS software the control buttons, such as play, stop, fast-forward etc will disappear as soon as I hit play in the search menu to start the feed.

Is this normal?...it appears the only way I can get normal control functions on playback from this software is to record locally onto the computer that is running the software. Is this the only way???

4. The record video result will now showing on the camera preview. Double click time with record on time axis to playback record by time (you can scroll to zoom in time axis). Click play button on window to start play from the earliest time.

So it just bit us again. It has the right time on Dahua cameras, but when we try to playback from a Uniview camera (which we use for license plates), it jumps around. I tried from Smart PSS and the web interface of the NVR.

So my work is looking for better software than what we are currently running to monitor our cameras hooked to a NVR. I cant seem to find anything that works like SmartPSS for our setup. We have a 64 channel NVR, we simply put in the NVR ip and login into SmartPSS and it just pulls in all the cameras hooked to it and we can easily monitor all of them and look at playback. We just have issue with it like not allowing fast forward or rewind in playback instead having to skip around. It always takes 3 tries when clicking playback for it start. Just all kinds of weird stuff. I dont know what I'm missing but I cant find any other software that just allows me to log into the NVR and be done. Everything I've tried I have to do individual cameras and then it uses the computer as an NVR it seems. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
