Smart Solat — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 May 2026
Smart Solat is a free reference guide for Muslims learning the daily acts of worship — wuduk (ablution), solat (prayer), and wirid & doa. This policy explains what the app uses your information for, and how it handles it.
In short: Smart Solat does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on any server. Everything you enter or set in the app stays on your device.

1. What stays on your device
The following items are saved locally on your device using your platform's standard app-preferences storage. None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else:
Your display name (used to greet you in the app)
Your language preference (English or Bahasa Malaysia)
Your theme, font size, and Arabic font size preferences
Your selected JAKIM prayer-time district
Your notification preference (on or off)
A cached copy of the JAKIM monthly prayer-time schedule so the app works when you're offline
Uninstalling the app removes all of this. You can also clear it through your device's app-storage settings without uninstalling.
2. Location
If you grant permission, Smart Solat reads your device's GPS coordinates only while the app is in use, for two purposes:
To compute the bearing from your current position to the Kaabah in Makkah for the Qiblat compass.
To suggest the nearest JAKIM zone for prayer times.
Your location is not transmitted to any server, not logged, and not stored after the app closes. We never see it.
You can deny or revoke location access at any time through your device's permission settings. The rest of the app continues to work without location — you can still pick your district manually.
3. Network requests
Smart Solat connects to public third-party services only when you use the relevant feature. We do not transmit any personal information in these requests. The services contacted are:
api.waktusolat.app — to download the official JAKIM prayer schedule for your selected zone. As with any web request, this exposes your device's IP address to that server as a normal artifact of the HTTP connection. We do not send your name, location, or any other identifier.
quranicaudio.com and everyayah.com — when you tap Play on a recitation, the audio streams from these public Qur'an-recitation CDNs. The same IP-address note applies.
These third-party services have their own privacy practices. We do not share data with them; we simply fetch publicly available content on your behalf.
4. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Smart Solat schedules adhan reminders locally on your device using your operating system's standard alarm and notification system. There is no push-notification server. No reminder you receive has passed through us or any third party.
You can disable notifications at any time in Settings inside the app, or via your device's notification settings.
5. What Smart Solat does not do
To be explicit:
We do not use analytics or crash reporting (no Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, or similar).
We do not show advertisements (no AdMob, no Facebook Audience Network, no other ad SDK).
We do not include any tracking or social-media SDKs (no Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, or similar).
We do not require an account, login, or email address.
We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or files.
We do not sell, share, rent, or transfer your information — because we don't have it.
6. Children
Smart Solat is intentionally suitable for learners of all ages, including children. Because the app collects no personal information about anyone, parents and guardians can let children use it without any consent disclosure being needed.
If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern about how a child uses the app, please email us at the address below.
7. Security
Because we don't transmit or store your data on any server, there is no central database to secure. The information saved on your device is protected by your device's own security model (lock screen, app sandboxing, OS-level encryption).
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in any meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please revisit this page from time to time.
