Smart Mileage Tracker ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Location data — GPS coordinates used to detect and measure trips.
Trip data — distance, start/end time, purpose (business or personal), and optional notes you enter.
Account data — your email address, used to create and identify your account.
2. How We Use Your Data
To calculate mileage and generate IRS-compliant mileage reports.
To store your trip history securely in your personal account.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore). Each user's data is isolated and accessible only by you.
4. Location Access
We request location permission to automatically detect when you start and stop driving. Background location is used only when trip tracking is active.
5. Data Retention
Your trip data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual trips or your entire account at any time.
6. Your Rights
Access your data — all your trips are visible in the app.
Delete your data — delete trips individually or delete your account entirely.
Export your data — generate a PDF report of your trip history at any time.

8. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13.
