Welcome to Smart Budget: Expense & Financial Management ("we", "our", or "the App"). We are firmly committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal and financial information. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles, collects, uses, and safeguards your data in full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
By downloading, installing, or using Smart Budget, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal financial data to any third party.
Smart Budget is engineered primarily as an Offline-First application. Your sensitive financial records—including transactions, income, expenses, wallets, categories, budgets, debt ledgers, savings goals, and scanned receipts—are stored locally on your device's internal SQLite database. We do not have direct access to your financial books, ledger entries, or personal balances.
A. Information You Provide Directly (Stored Locally On-Device)
When using the application, you may create and manage the following data:
Financial Transactions: Records of income, expenses, date, time, notes, categories, payment methods, and balance snapshots.
Wallets & Accounts: Custom account names, opening balances, account types, and currency preferences.
Budgets & Goals: Target limits, savings plans, deadline dates, and debt tracking records.
User Profile & Identification (Optional): Full name, phone number, address, date of birth, and email address used exclusively for generating personalized PDF/CSV Financial Statements.
Receipt & Invoice Images: Photographs captured via camera or selected from device storage for on-device OCR text recognition via Google ML Kit. Images are processed purely on-device and are never uploaded to remote servers.
All the above information remains strictly on your device unless you explicitly initiate an external action (such as exporting a statement or enabling optional Google Cloud Sync).
B. Information Collected Automatically (Third-Party Services & Anti-Abuse)
To maintain the app's performance, stability, trial integrity, and free availability, the app integrates trusted services:
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device-specific information, including your Advertising ID (GAID), IP address, general coarse location, and ad interaction telemetry. For more information, visit: Google Privacy & Terms.
Device Identification for Trial Integrity (ANDROID_ID): To prevent trial fraud and ensure fair access to the 35-Day VIP Ad-Free Trial, the app securely hashes and transmits your hardware identifier (Settings.Secure.ANDROID_ID) to Google Firebase Firestore. This identifier is used strictly for fraud prevention and verifying trial eligibility across app reinstalls. It is never sold or used for advertising profiling.
Google Play In-App Billing: For users purchasing Lifetime Pro, transactions are processed directly and securely by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card numbers, bank accounts, or billing addresses.
Google Play Core Services: We utilize Google Play In-App Updates and App Review libraries to deliver automated updates and rating prompts securely.
C. Optional Cloud Synchronization (Google Cloud Firestore)
If you voluntarily choose to enable Google Sign-In Cloud Sync:
We authenticate your identity via Google Credential Manager (OAuth2) and collect your public profile name, email address, and unique User ID.
Your financial records (transactions, wallets, budgets, categories) are encrypted during transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encrypted at rest on Google Cloud Firestore.
Only your verified Google Account has authorization to read, write, sync, or restore this cloud backup.
Smart Budget requests only the minimum necessary system permissions to execute explicit features:
Camera (CAMERA): Used on-demand to photograph receipts and invoices for offline ML Kit text extraction (OCR).
Storage / Media Access: Required to export and save financial statements (PDF and CSV files) directly to your device storage, or to restore offline backup files.
Internet (INTERNET): Used to load Google AdMob advertisements and execute voluntary Google Cloud Firestore synchronization and trial verification.
Network State (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to detect internet availability for seamless switching between offline and online states.
Biometric (USE_BIOMETRIC): Used locally by Android OS to authenticate app lock (PIN / Biometric) without transmitting biometric data outside your hardware.
Local Storage Protection: Local database files reside within the application's private sandboxed directory, inaccessible to other standard Android applications.
Encryption in Transit: All communications with Google Play and Google Cloud services use robust TLS 1.3 / SSL encryption.
No Invasive Tracking: We do not run background location tracking, keystroke logging, or silent unauthorized extraction.
You have absolute sovereignty and control over your data:
Instant In-App Deletion: You can erase all stored transactions, accounts, and profile data instantly by navigating to Settings > System & Danger Zone > Clear All Records.
Cloud Account & Data Deletion: You can request the complete deletion of your account, cloud backups, and device trial records directly within the app or by visiting our dedicated Web Deletion Request Page at:

Application Uninstallation: Uninstalling the app permanently purges all local SQLite databases and cached assets from your device.
Smart Budget is designed for general audiences and is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete such data.
We may periodically update our Privacy Policy to reflect feature enhancements, legal mandates, or Google Play policy modifications. Any revisions will be published with an updated "Last Updated" date.
