On Saturday and Sunday, September 29^th and 30^th, ten SLST - East members represented school librarians at the sixth annual RoberCon, a science fiction and fantasy convention that takes place at the Roberson Museum & Science Center in downtown Binghamton. Librarians at SLST - East’s fan table, which has been a part of the event since its inception, interacted with hundreds of people, presenting 143 free books or comics to Pre-K to 12^th Grade students along with buttons and bookmarks for all. It was exciting to share science fiction and fantasy titles with the young people attending the con, as well as to promote school libraries and reading. Many families shared that the book giveaway has become one of the highlights of the experience for their children.
