Six SLST - East members gathered at President Annarose Foley’s house on Saturday, May 18th to discuss The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman. An adult historical fiction book with clear curricular connections and young adult appeal, this title contains a subtle hint of magical realism that colors the overall tone, enhancing the sense of mysticism that permeated the world of curiosities on Coney Island in the early 1900s. Participants were passionate about the book, both positively and negatively, and a lively discussion followed with good food and good friends.
