School Librarians of the Southern Tier - East
About Us
Located in South Central New York State and encompassing Broome-Tioga, Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego, and Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES, the School Librarians of the Southern Tier - East is a Round Table of the New York Library Association. Our purpose is to (1) promote an exchange of ideas and experiences to solve the problems of our profession so that we can better serve our individual school library media centers and the work of our schools, (2) promote awareness among school administrators and teachers of the importance and scope of what school library media centers can offer to the school program, (3) elevate the status of our profession and the individual members of the Association, (4) stimulate closer relationships with the Section of School Librarians of the New York Library Association (NYLA/SSL) and other professional groups, and (5) promote professional excellence among our members through program activities that offer an opportunity for continuing education or enrichment.

Reimbursement
In order to be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the service of the organization, please complete the NYLA Reimbursement Request Form and submit it and all pertinent receipts to Kathy Starks, SLST - East Treasurer, for her signature. She will take care of obtaining the President's signature and mailing it to NYLA.
Membership
Because we are a Round Table of the New York Library Association, membership in SLST - East is $10 in addition to the cost of your NYLA membership. Select SSLA - School Librarians of the Southern Tier - EAST when joining/renewing.
