Slovak-Japanese One-Day+ Session for Young Scholars in Applied Mathematics 2026

Purpose of this session: 

Following the successful Slovak–Japanese Session for Young Scholars in Applied Mathematics held in the 2025 academic year, we are pleased to organize the session again this year. Originally planned as a one-day event, last year's session naturally expanded into a two-day meeting because of the active scientific discussions and interactions among the participants. Based on this experience, we have reserved two days for this year's session as well, allowing flexibility in the program if needed.

During their one-week visit in September 2026, two young scholars, Dagmar Žáková and Michal Kollár, from the Slovak University of Technology will visit the Ikuta Campus of Meiji University with support from the Erasmus+ International Mobility Programme for university staff. One of the main purposes of their visit is to strengthen scientific collaboration between our institutions.

Taking this opportunity, we will organize a session for Slovak researchers and members of Meiji University, Kanazawa University, Saitama University, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and Chiang Mai University. The main program is planned to span one day and the following morning. The session is intended to provide a friendly environment for young researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and initiate international collaborations in applied mathematics.

Flexible program:

Each talks will be 20--40 minutes, depending on the speaker and the topic, with 10-minute breaks between sessions.
