The sample libraries include both the slinky sound, and the dry room sound. In this way you can choose how conventional you want your The dry room sound was recorded with a stereo mic in standard X-Y pair pattern.

Not a violin for just any situation, but very fun to play with such a unique sound! I really like how all the presets are in one!? It actually took me a time or two to realize that I could click on which preset from inside DS, I'd like to try doing that for my next instrument. Also, the GUI! David's are always well thought out, and the artwork is clean and fits well, but the knobs are perfect for this instrument! As I play with each preset I do bring the reverb and room down to get acquainted with the instrument before bringing those knobs back up his presets are excellent starting points. The dynamic knob is great to have, and the slinky knob is a cool touch, it obviously changes the character a lot, but I adds a lot too and can help build intensity when used in combination with the dynamic knob.

Hi guys, newbie bassist here and just got my Hofner Ignition Series Violin Bass. I wanted to change the bass strings of my Hofner Violin Bass to Flatwound bass strings, but since I live here in the Philippines, there are limited options for the violin bass and since I own an ignition model, it became more difficult for me to find the right gauge and at the same time a good brand for my Hofner Ignition Series Violin Bass. There are no brands like La Bella, Rotosound, and Fender are available and can also fit my bass, but I researched more and found Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwound bass strings with a 40-95 gauge, and I'm worried that it will have some trouble with my Hofner Ignition short scale bass. I would like to hear some thoughts from you guys. Should I take the risk and buy the Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwound bass strings or not? Thank you in advance!

When a slinky is stretched and then released, it produces a type of wave called a transverse wave. In a transverse wave, the particles of the medium (in this case, the coils of the slinky) move perpendicular to the direction of the wave. This means that as the wave travels along the slinky, the coils move up and down or side to side.

On the other hand, the strings of a violin produce a type of wave called a standing wave. A standing wave is formed when two waves of the same frequency and amplitude traveling in opposite directions interfere with each other. The strings of a violin vibrate back and forth, creating areas of constructive and destructive interference, resulting in the formation of a standing wave pattern.

This 40 cm-long plate is shaped like a standard violin. Place sand on the plate and excite with either a violin bow or wave driver. Includes a standard banana jack connector for use with the Mechanical Wave Driver.

This demonstration uses a slinky and tuning fork to explain two types of waveforms in our world: transverse and longitudinal. A discussion on sound waves is included and leads to categorizing sound waves as longitudinal waves. e24fc04721
