Here's a gift idea for the person who has EVERYTHING...make a donation to the library in their honor!

---------------------

MONETARY DONATIONS to OUR LIBRARY ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED! PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO US. WE ARE A COMMUNITY BENEFIT ORGANIZATION AND YOUR DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE !

SMILE.AMAZON.COM

Are you aware that you can use Amazon AND help our library? Just go to the website and list us as your charity. Amazon gives us .05% of your purchase. I know it doesn't sound like much, but if many of us participate in this particular fundraiser, it adds up. As the holiday approaches and online shopping increases, this could be a big deal for us!

Remember to bookmark smile.amazon, com when logging in to your account. Amazon doesn't automatically default to the charity site.

Thank you to the many people who have selected Slatington Public Library as their Smile Amazon Charity. Each month or two we receive between $11 and $17 from Amazon. That probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but we are so appreciative of every donation that comes our way. We don't know who has signed up, but THANK YOU!!! The more who select us as their Smile Charity, the more money we will receive.

The library accepts donations of books (hard cover and paperbacks), DVDs, and audiobooks on CD . We do not accept encyclopedias, National Geographic, Reader's Digest Condensed books or audiobooks on cassettes. We prefer donations of gently used books with copyright dates no older than 2001.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION!

Libraries are a cornerstone of democracy—where information is free and equally available to everyone. People tend to take that for granted, and they don’t realize what is at stake when that is put at risk.—Carla Hayden

Spark is here! This is the circulation/catalog system of the new Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative. Eleven libraries now participate in this easily accessible resource-sharing program. Your new free library card is the key to 500,000 resources collectively offered by the libraries in the cooperative. Our librarians will be happy to issue the new card and tell you about the advantages of this special partnership.

This year we look forward to some other new programs at our library. There will be a Stem Program for children that fosters 21st-century skills with creative arts integration, and we will host programs about Social Security and Breast Cancer for our adult patrons.

The library is still your one-stop shop for great books and periodicals, internet access, faxing, copy service, and movies (VHS & DVD). Our experienced librarians are also available for questions and research assistance. The library’s website is a treasure trove of free information, and it has videos of programs, which the library has hosted. Take a look!

We feature monthly Friends of the Library group, book club, diabetes lecture, and genealogy group. This is just a sample of the activities the library offers. Stop in and inquire about programs that may be of interest to you.

Our Slatington Public Library is a Community Benefit Organization that depends on the Northern Lehigh Community for funding. Our mission is service, and our goal is to improve literacy and quality of life. Please donate today. Any amount is appreciated.
