December 23, 2020 - Reduced Fees!
Good news! After working with Mr. Nerdin, Mr. Murdock and Coach Joe, the Boosters Club is pleased to let you know we’ve been successful in lowering the mandatory Skyline student participation fee for swimming to $134. It was initially projected to be $300.
If you have paid the $216 fee previously loaded onto your student’s account through the Skyline bookstore, your student’s account will be credited with the difference of $82. If you have paid and would prefer to receive a check from the school, you may contact the Skyline office to request a refund check.
Thanks again to our successful 20 Random Acts of Kindness in 2020 team fundraiser headed by Amy Johnson, to our celebrity swimmers, Mayor Silvestrini, Ethan Cisneros from Thirst, Fox News Weatherman Brek Bolton, our own famous local swimmers Laura Randall and Claire Brooks, and all the generous community members who donated in a difficult year.

December 6, 2020 - Update
Below you will find information for the upcoming week from Coach Joe. Please understand in advance that all the following information is subject to change because of the uncertainties of COVID. We will let you know as soon as we have new information. Updated information will be underlined and bold.
Thursday December 10, 2020 meet with Hillcrest High School
The meet on Thursday will follow a nontraditional format. Timers need to arrive no later than 3:00; the meet the will begin at 3:30. The Varsity team will swim first, competing in all events against Hillcrest. They will be followed by the Skyline JV team swimming the 50 and 100 free. No spectators will be allowed, however the meet will be live streamed.
Friday December 11, 2020
Girls' COVID testing: 8:00 a.m.
Girls' Pictures: 8:30 a.m.
Boys' COVID testing: 8:30 a.m.
Boys' Pictures: 9:00a.m.
Team Pictures: All swimmers are invited, but not required, to participate in team pictures on Friday. Because of COVID restrictions, the entire team will not take a picture together. If your swimmer chooses not to be in the team picture their name will still be included on the poster, in the yearbook, etc. We will be taking boys' team pictures and girls' team pictures separately.
Team COVID Testing: Swim Team COVID testing will also take place that day. These tests are required by the Granite School District to participate in after school activities at this time. If your student is in multiple after school activities, such as orchestra and swimming, they need to inform the tester at the test on Friday. Only one test is needed for both activities (one test per student). The test administered will be a rapid result swab test. Please go to the following link on the Skyline High School Website to fill out and submit the form for the mandatory COVID testing that will be taking place Friday, December 11 at Skyline High School for all swimmers. The consent forms must be signed before testing can take place. https://schools.graniteschools.org/skylinehigh/covid-testing/
Thursday December 17, 2020 meet with Cottonwood High School
This meet will be for Varsity Swimmers only. Coach Joe will be taking the JV Team only to the Highland meet in January.
The District Swim Meet for 2020 has been cancelled.

If you would like to download the periscope app it is a much clearer view. If not, the internet works fine too. If you need a user name to follow under the periscope app it is under either Elizabeth Diaz or Skylineswim.
An ENORMOUS thanks to Beth Diaz who had to literally move heaven and earth to even be able to get us access to stream the event, not to mention get all the equipment, do all the set up and is there right now as our camera person! THANK YOU BETH!!!

Gear is Approved to be Ordered!
Our swimming gear has been approved and is ready to order! Many, many, many thanks to Jeff Murdock who has advocated for us with the District as sports team fees and gear rules have changed at the District level this year. While some of the sports changes are COVID related, the gear ordering process and planning is new district policy, and we appreciate Mr. Murdock working so hard to help us order the gear we need in a timely manner so we are ready to swim!
Here is the link to order gear:
There are examples of suits and an ordering kit at the pool for students to check sizes and find the right fit. GEAR ORDERS NEED TO BE PLACED THROUGH THE LINK ABOVE BY SUNDAY NIGHT AT 10:00 P.M.
Remember that required gear includes a suit (click through on the order form to see all suit options), t-shirt, sweatshirt, and Skyline swim cap, all included with the $300 mandatory Skyline High School fee. Payment for mandatory gear will be assessed AFTER the gear orders have been placed and will be paid through the Skyline Bookstore.
Optional gear is also available to order and is paid at the time of order through Sports Den.
Fabulous Fundraiser News!
We've raised over $6,000 which all helps to lower the fees each swimmer will be assessed for gear, equipment, and pool fees! Remember that Skyline High School set that fee at $300.00 per swimmer, but with our community’s generous help in a difficult year it is on its way down!
Here's a quick reminder of the target for each swimmer:
20 shares through the Anython site (helps us keep as much money as possible)
20 Random Acts of Kindness
We still have 11 boys and 12 girls who haven't logged into the Anython fundraiser yet. Need help getting started? Here is the tutorial video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZYfseWwKJE
We'd love to spotlight more of the Random Acts of Kindness! Please encourage your swimmer to document 5 of their 20 acts. Photos can be emailed to amyallenjohnson@gmail.com or texted with the swimmer's name to 801.913.5998. Swimmers with social media can also tag @skylineeaglesswim on Instagram or use #20Raok20days hashtag. We know that lots of service has been done anonymously. We’d still love to spotlight the service even if the swimmer wants to remain anonymous - send us a picture of those raked leaves, shiny sinks or secretly emptied dishwashers and let us know if your swimmer would like to remain anonymous! Thanks to all who have already shared!
Best News of All - Skyline Swimmers are Great Kids!
But we bet you already knew that! And the Mayor, the news and Skyline agree! Word of our RAOK project made it to the ears of our Millcreek City Mayor, Jeff Silvestrini, and local Channel 13 weatherman, Brek Bolton and our Skyline Administration. All have been impressed with the willingness of our kids to get out there and make a difference in 2020, and they want to celebrate these great kids with us. The Mayor, Mr. Bolton and our very own Skyline Administration will be racing our captains and some other lucky swimmers in some crazy swim races at our pool to celebrate #20Raok20days with us. More information to come!
October 6, 2020
Gear Update:
The District is sending a purchase order to our winning bid any day. As soon as a company receives a winning bid, we will have 2 days to get our gear ordered! This is for mandatory gear only that is included with the $300.00 team fee. We will send out a link and a sizing kit will be available at the pool for suits. Watch GroupMe and email for that link, hopefully this week!

20 Acts of Kindness in 20 Days in 2020!
We are excited to be doing 20 acts of kindness in 20 days in 2020 and partnering with Anython for our team fundraiser this year as we look to offset athletic costs that have risen due to COVID-19. We look forward to a positive team building experience as well as a chance to show our community what fantastic kids Skyline has both in and out of the water!
