Guide
Playing Music (overlay)
To create an overlay you have to:
Give the app permission to draw over other apps
Give the app permission to use Accessibility services (the permission is found in settings/system/accessibility
Calibrate the app
To play music using the overlay:
Tap the "OVERLAY" button
Open Sky
Press the music note icon to select a song
Press the speed dial to select a speed
Press the play button to play the song (That's all)
If the app automatically pauses you might have to close the instrument in Sky and reopen it.
Saving songs
Open the Save page by clicking the sky icon in the action bar
To save a song:
Paste the song you want to save into the box
Press save
To update a song:
Paste the updated script with the same title into the box
Press save
To delete a song:
Select a song using the drop-down menu
Press delete
The app supports two song formats: sky scripts and ABC123. Every song must use either of these formats or else the app cannot play it.
Song Titles
To save a song you need to give it a name. A song title must lie before the script and must be separated from the script with "||"
For example:
Song title|| 1 l 2 l 3 j 4 g 2 l 1 2 5 l
or:
Song title|| A1 A2 A3 . A4 . . . A2 A1 A2 A5
Playing Music (Notification)
Paste a sky script into the correct box or select a saved song. If you don't have any sky scripts, go to the script page of this website or create one with the Composer tool
Enter a BPM
Create a Notification using the button
Open "Sky: Children of the Light
Press "Play Music" in the notification
Open an instrument in sky
Disclaimer:
Sometimes the app will not recognize that Sky is open and therefore pause. If this happens: close your instrument in Sky and re-open the instrument after you've pressed play in the notification. If this does not fix the problem then you can try restarting Sky.
Calibrating the app
Calibrating Sky Music Studio is necessary for the app to function. To calibrate:
Open the calibration page in Sky Music studio
Open Sky on your device and select an instrument so that you can see it's buttons
Take a screenshot
Open sky music studio and upload the screenshot using the "UPLOAD SCREENSHOT" button
Tap the "START CALIBRATION BUTTON"
Follow the instructions:
6.1 Press the top left button on the instrument
6.2 Press the bottom right button on the instrument
The calibration is now complete
Composing music using the music studio
On the composer page in Sky Music Studio:
To record button presses the red record button must be selected
To add a note press the corresponding button on the keyboard. If you add multiple keys without adding a delay it is seen as a chord.
To add a delay press the space bar:
A single delay is created by pressing the button once, a double delay is created by pressing the button twice, and so on.
If you are transcribing from a Sky Studio sheet: add one delay between each box as in the video below
Composing music by hand
Composing song by hand is tedious and prone to error. Using the music composer is therefore strongly recommended. If you want to do it anyways, follow the rules below.
General rules:
Each command must be separated by one space
Notes and chords:
To add a note, add the correct number 1-15 to the script (see the diagram below)
To create a chord, add multiple numbers in a row
[ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ]
[ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ] [10]
[11] [12] [13] [14] [15]
Delays:
To separate notes, add a delay
Different letters correspond to different delays (see the guide below)
It is possible to add multiple delays after one another
If you are transcribing from a sheet: a delay of 1 separates two sixteenth notes and a delay of 4 separates to quarter notes and so on and so forth...
Letter to delay:
l = 1, j = 2, h = 3, g = 4, f = 6, d = 8, s = 12, a = 16

If it doesn't work
On some devices the app might not behave as expected. If you are experiencing problems, try to solve them using the guide below:
No notification shows up when I press the button.
There are three main reasons for why a notification might not show up.
Your phone blocks the notification:
Check if your phone is in do not disturb mode: settings -> apps & notifications -> notifications -> advanced -> do not disturb. Turn the setting off.
Check if you have notifications turned off for the app: go to settings -> apps & notifications -> see all apps -> Sky Music Studio -> Notifications. Turn notifications on.
You have not granted the app access to accessibility tools:
Go to settings -> system -> accessibility -> Sky Music Studio. You have to turn this permission on.
You have not calibrated the app:
Tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the app
Select "calibrate"
follow the instructions in the app or on this page
A notifications show up but I can't play any music:
Make sure you have entered a sky script and a bpm
Try recalibrating the app.
