• Skullcandy Icon 180 — biggest strength: up to 50 hours of battery life plus Rapid Charge (10 minutes for 4 hours of playtime), with multipoint pairing and app-based EQ control.
• Skullcandy Icon 180 — biggest trade-off: it's an on-ear design, so it's bulkier than earbuds and relies on a headband-and-cushion fit rather than sitting inside your ear.
• TOZO T6 — biggest strength: true wireless earbuds with an IPX8 waterproof rating, paired with the TOZO PA1 Bluetooth speaker that supports dual pairing and call function.
• TOZO T6 — biggest trade-off: the endurance figure applies to the PA1 speaker (up to 25H), and the earbuds themselves are a much smaller form factor than a full over-the-head design.
• Who each pick is for: the Icon 180 suits long-session listeners, travelers, and workout users who want one pair for everything; the TOZO T6 suits people who want pocketable earbuds and a companion speaker for group or room-filling audio.
The Icon 180 is built around one idea: keep the music going. Skullcandy rates it at up to 50 hours of battery life, and Rapid Charge fills in the gaps — 10 minutes on the charger gets you 4 hours of listening. If you're the kind of person who forgets to charge things, that combination is the whole pitch. You get roughly an hour to a full charge, and the battery average life is listed at 50 hours.
Beyond battery, the Icon 180 is designed to survive real life. A protective nano-coating keeps moisture out, so sweat, rain and spills aren't a dealbreaker — useful if you wear these for workouts or commutes in bad weather. Bluetooth 5.3 handles the wireless side, and multipoint pairing lets you connect two devices at once, so you can jump between a laptop and a phone without repairing. The Skullcandy App adds EQ customization, EQ presets and Low Latency Audio, which matters if you're watching video and don't want the audio to drift behind the picture.
The physical design is deliberately travel-friendly. It's flat-folding and collapsible, comes with a 3.5mm AUX cable so you can go wired when you want, and uses plush on-ear cushions with a softly padded headband. At 9.12 ounces it's a real object on your head, not a featherweight, but that's the trade for the on-ear cushioning and the folding hinge. Noise control is listed as Active Noise Cancellation, and the earcups are on-ear with faux leather and plastic construction in a Bone colorway. Controls are button-based, with the app handling the deeper settings.
Who should buy it: long-haul travelers, people who work through the day with headphones on, and anyone who wants one pair that can go wired or wireless and survive sweat and weather. Who should skip it: anyone who wants something that disappears into a pocket, or who prefers the in-ear seal and low profile of true wireless earbuds. If you want a compact carry, this isn't that product — and that's fine.
The TOZO T6 is a different animal entirely. It's a true wireless earbud package, and the listing pairs it with the TOZO PA1 Bluetooth speaker, so you're getting two pieces of audio gear rather than one. The earbuds use OrigX technology, with bass extending down to 18Hz while keeping mids clear and trebles crisp. That's the tuning story: low-end presence without smothering the rest of the mix.
The earbuds themselves are IPX8 waterproof, which is the highest rating you'll typically see on consumer audio and means they're designed to handle full submersion scenarios rather than just splashes. For gym-goers, runners in the rain, or anyone who sweats heavily, that's the headline feature. The ergonomic shape is meant to sit snugly and stay comfortable over long sessions, and the lightweight build keeps them easy to carry.
The PA1 speaker is the second half of the package, and it changes the use case. It supports dual pairing — connect two PA1 units and they play together as a stereo pair — and each one also works perfectly on its own. It delivers 2.0 stereo sound with a 67mm diameter speaker that TOZO says produces enhanced bass across a wide range. It also supports call function, so you can take conference calls or group chats and reach your device's default voice assistant straight from the speaker.
Endurance is listed at up to 25 hours for the PA1 speaker on a single charge, with a Type-C USB cable included for charging. Note that this 25H figure is the speaker's, not a per-earbud figure — the sheet doesn't break out earbud runtime separately, so don't assume the buds match it.
Who should buy it: people who want earbuds for the gym, run or commute and also want a small speaker for a desk, kitchen, dorm room or picnic. Who should skip it: anyone who wants a single over-ear pair with a stated 50-hour battery and app-level EQ control, or who doesn't have a use for a separate speaker. It's a two-product bundle, and that's either the point or the problem depending on what you need.
• Best for battery life → Skullcandy Icon 180. Up to 50 hours, plus Rapid Charge giving 4 hours from a 10-minute top-up.
• Best for water exposure → TOZO T6. The earbuds carry an IPX8 waterproof rating versus the Icon 180's moisture-resistant nano-coating.
• Best for travel and packing → Skullcandy Icon 180. Flat-folding, collapsible, with an included 3.5mm AUX cable for wired listening on planes or older gear.
• Best for shared or room audio → TOZO T6. The PA1 speaker's 67mm driver, dual pairing and 2.0 stereo output are built for listening with others.
• Best for video and gaming latency → Skullcandy Icon 180. Low Latency Audio is switchable in the Skullcandy App.
• Best for calls on the go → TOZO T6. The PA1 speaker supports call function and voice-assistant access directly from the speaker.
• Best for multi-device switching → Skullcandy Icon 180. Multipoint pairing holds two connections at once.
• Best for a minimal footprint → TOZO T6. Earbuds plus a small speaker take up less space than a folding on-ear headphone.
In my opinion, the Skullcandy Icon 180 is the better buy for most people reading this. The 50-hour battery, Rapid Charge, multipoint pairing, app EQ, folding design and AUX fallback add up to one pair that covers commuting, working and workouts without babysitting a charger. The TOZO T6 is genuinely compelling if you specifically want IPX8 earbuds and a speaker bundled together — but that's a narrower fit. If your priority is a single, durable, long-running headphone, I'd take the Icon 180.
