SkipTrack requests only the permissions it needs to detect and skip media tracks using the volume keys. All processing happens entirely on your device.
Accessibility service (volume key interception) - stays on-device Intercepts physical volume key presses to detect short or long presses. The service uses onKeyEvent() exclusively - it never reads screen content, notification text, or any other app data. No keypress data is stored, transmitted, or shared.
Notification listener (active media session detection) - stays on-device Required by Android to call MediaSessionManager.getActiveSessions(), which identifies the currently playing media app so the correct track can be skipped. The app reads only the active session handle - it does not read, store, or process the content of your notifications.
Foreground service & wake lock - stays on-device Keeps track-skipping responsive at all times, including when the screen is off. A mandatory Android foreground-service status notification is shown; no data is sent anywhere as a result.
Vibration - stays on-device Provides optional haptic feedback when a skip action is triggered. No data is collected from this action.
Boot signal - stays on-device Resumes the service after a device restart - but only if you have previously enabled it. No data is transmitted.
Notifications - stays on-device Shows the mandatory foreground-service status notice required by Android. No personal data is conveyed through this notification.
Local storage (SharedPreferences) - stays on-device Saves your settings - such as long-press duration, screen-off-only mode, vibration intensity, and app theme. This data never leaves your device and is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app or clear app data.
No account or login - no name, email address, or identity data of any kind.
No location data.
No device identifiers used for tracking (no advertising ID collection).
No usage analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or telemetry of any kind.
No advertising SDKs or ad networks.
No network requests - the app has no internet permission and makes no outbound connections.
No notification content - the notification listener is used solely to obtain a session handle for media control; notification text, titles, and icons are never read or stored.
No keypress content - the accessibility service intercepts volume key events only; it never reads screen content or accessibility events from other apps.
None. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, ad networks, crash reporters, or cloud back-ends integrated into this app.
If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be reflected in an updated "Last updated" date above.
This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone - including children - because it collects no personal data at all.
Because no personal data is collected, stored, or processed by us, there is generally nothing to access, correct, delete, or export on our end.
Your settings live only in your device's local app storage (SharedPreferences) and are removed automatically when you uninstall the app or clear app data in your device settings.
If you contact us by email at seleniumstudio.app@gmail.com, that email and its contents are handled according to standard Gmail data practices on our end - we do not add it to any separate database.
We retain nothing, so there is nothing to retain on our side. Your local settings persist on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Since no data is transmitted to or stored by us, there is no server-side breach surface tied to your use of this app. Your locally stored settings are protected from other apps by Android's standard app-sandboxing model.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by applicable law, by additional notice in the app or store listing.
