Effective Date: March 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Skinmaxx ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Skinmaxx mobile application (the "App").
Skinmaxx is an AI-powered skincare app that lets you scan your face for skin scoring, analyze skincare products, track before-and-after progress, chat with an AI skincare assistant, follow routines, and manage subscriptions. We are committed to being transparent about how your data is handled.
Skinmaxx is intended for users 9 years of age and older.
The App is not intended for children under 9.
During onboarding, the App may collect birth date, gender, height, weight, and skin-related preferences. For users under 13, we encourage parents or guardians to review this policy and supervise their child's use of the App.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental awareness. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the App without appropriate parental oversight, please contact us at the email below so we can take appropriate action.
During the onboarding flow, you may provide:
Gender
Birth date
Height and weight
Skin concerns and skincare preferences
Skin goals and commitment level
This information is stored locally on your device and is used to personalize your in-app experience.
The App creates a local profile with fields for name, email, gender, and avatar. In the current version of the App, no real account or login system is used — the profile is created locally with default placeholder values. You may optionally set a profile image from your photo library, which is also stored locally on your device.
You may provide photos in the following ways:
Taking a photo with your camera (face scans, product labels)
Selecting a photo from your photo library (skin analysis, progress tracking, product analysis, chat attachments, profile image)
Important: When you use features such as skin scanning, product analysis, before-and-after comparison, or AI chat with an image attachment, your photos may be transmitted to an external AI backend service for processing. Photos are sent as image data to generate analysis results such as skin scores, product ratings, and progress comparisons.
Saved photos (skin scores, progress images, scanned products, profile image) are also stored locally on your device.
Photos may contain sensitive personal information, such as your face or skin condition.
When you use the AI skincare chat feature, your text messages and any attached images are transmitted to the external AI backend to generate responses. Chat usage counts are stored locally to enforce daily limits.
If you scan or enter a product barcode, the barcode value may be transmitted to the AI backend for product analysis.
We may collect limited technical data such as:
App usage events
Device type and operating system
Crash or performance diagnostics
This data is used solely to improve app stability and user experience.
We use the information described above to:
Provide AI-powered skin analysis, product analysis, and progress tracking
Generate skin scores (overall, glow, smoothness, evenness, under-eye, plumpness, brightness)
Power the AI skincare chat assistant
Personalize your in-app experience based on onboarding preferences
Manage subscriptions and feature access
Send local reminder notifications (if you grant permission)
Improve app functionality and performance
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
Skinmaxx uses artificial intelligence to analyze photos and generate skincare-related outputs. When you use AI-powered features, your data (including photos, text prompts, and barcode values) may be sent to an external AI backend service for processing.
The AI backend is provided by Rork Toolkit AI (hosted at toolkit.rork.com or a configured alternative endpoint).
Data sent to the AI backend is used to generate analysis results and is not used by us for advertising, identity recognition, or any purpose unrelated to delivering App features.
The App does not perform facial recognition or identity verification. It analyzes face photos solely for skin-related scoring.
All AI outputs are for informational and entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon for medical, dermatological, or diagnostic decisions.
Skinmaxx is not a medical application.
The App does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
The App does not provide medical, dermatological, or psychological advice.
AI skincare chat responses and skin scores are for informational purposes only.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical or skin health concerns.
The App offers subscription-based access to premium features. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system and managed by RevenueCat.
We do not directly process payment card details.
Purchase-related data and subscription status are handled by Apple and RevenueCat.
RevenueCat uses anonymous user identifiers by default; the App does not currently associate purchases with a named user account.
When a refund request is submitted through Apple, we may share your app usage and purchase consumption data (such as how long you have used the App, your purchase history, and the degree to which you have used purchased features) with Apple to help evaluate the refund request.
The App may request permission to send notifications. If you grant permission:
The App schedules local weekly reminder notifications on your device.
We do not use remote push notifications.
You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
Profile information
Onboarding answers and completion status
Skin scores and saved face photos
Scanned product data
Before-and-after progress images
Chat daily usage count
Subscription and paywall state
Routine data, challenge progress, and completed days
Reminder and appearance preferences
Profile image
This data is stored using on-device storage and is not synced to a cloud server by the App.
We share data with the following third-party services only as necessary to operate the App:

We do not share personal data for advertising, resale, or cross-app tracking.
On-device data is retained on your device until you delete the App or use the in-app logout/delete account feature.
Data sent to the AI backend is transmitted for processing purposes. [CONFIRM: Whether the AI backend retains or logs transmitted data, and if so, for how long. Verify with Rork Toolkit AI's data handling practices.]
The in-app "Delete Account" and "Logout" features clear all locally stored data on your device. The App does not currently maintain a server-side account, so there is no server-side data to delete beyond what is handled by third-party services (RevenueCat, Rork Toolkit AI).
You have the following choices regarding your data:
Camera and Photo Library access: You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Some App features will not function without them.
Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in your device settings at any time.
Delete local data: Use the in-app "Delete Account" or "Logout" feature to clear all locally stored data.
Uninstall: Removing the App from your device will delete all locally stored data.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate personal data
Delete your personal data
Withdraw consent where applicable
Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format
Object to certain types of processing
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): You have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights listed above. Our legal basis for processing is your consent and the legitimate interest of providing App features.
For users in California: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
The App is rated 9+ and may be used by children. During onboarding, the App collects birth date, gender, height, weight, and skin-related preferences, which are stored locally on the device.
When children use AI-powered features (skin scanning, product analysis, chat), their photos and text may be transmitted to the external AI backend for processing, the same as for all users.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for purposes beyond providing the App's core features. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's use of the App and to contact us if they have concerns.
The App is available internationally. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that data transmitted to the AI backend or third-party services may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by a revised "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
