Hon. Balagasay is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Beyond his academic pursuits, he is deeply committed to various advocacies, including education, human rights, youth engagement, and LGBTQIA+ rights. He actively seeks opportunities to contribute to these causes, demonstrating his passion for creating positive change in society.

His journey into leadership began at a young age, as he actively engaged with various organizations at Fortune Elementary School. One standout experience was his presidency of the FES Arts Club, where his passion for leadership truly shone. Additionally, he showcased his talents by representing his grade school in diverse Arts and Sciences competitions at divisional, regional, and national levels. He carried his commitment to serving his peers into Fortune High School, where he assumed the role of President in the Mathematics Club. Excelling academically, he maintained a consistent record of academic honors and graduated from FHS with outstanding achievements.

He enrolled at Polytechnic University of the Philippines Senior High School in Manila, specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, where he solidified his determination to pursue a career in Engineering. It was during his time at PUP SHS Manila that he was introduced to activism and developed a strong sense of empathy towards the oppressed and marginalized. Additionally, he embraced his identity as a queer individual and became actively involved in advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights, demonstrating his commitment to social justice and equality.
