About Summer & Kerri

SK Designs is a mother-daughter educator team with a wide range of teaching experience. Summer (S) and Kerri (K) taught in the classroom for many years before specializing in their current educational roles. Kerri is certified as an instructional specialist, academic language therapist, structured literacy dyslexia specialist, licensed dyslexia therapist, and classroom teacher at all grade levels. Benefitting from more than 25 years of experience teaching students, teachers, and academic language therapists-in-training, she provides teacher training, academic language therapist mentoring, dyslexia/academic language therapy, curricula development, parent consultations, and faculty/staff development in her private practice in Dallas, Texas. Summer is an elementary library and technology/media specialist. She has ten years of experience as a K-6 classroom teacher and remedial reading/math specialist. She works at a public elementary school in the Dallas area. She provides academic enrichment and coordinates reading and technology resources for teachers, parents, and students. Kerri and Summer are passionate about learning and helping others experience success in their academic endeavors while inspiring a lifelong love of learning.

Kerri and Summer feel delighted and grateful for the honors and awards they have received. However, their greatest honor has been the opportunity to teach precious and unique individuals in a variety of settings ~ so fun and such a blessing!
