Lunch - Saturday, 13th of May

Saturday’s lunch is being hosted by the Auxiliary and being prepared by Corinne & Bill Buterbaugh.  They will be preparing meatball subs, pasta salad, and homemade chocolate chip cookies.   They make an awesome cooking team, so this is definitely a luncheon that you don’t want to miss out on. The weather for Saturday is partly cloudy with a temperature high 68, so it is a perfect day to take a break from yard work and enjoy a delicious meal.  Lunch will be served from 12:00pm-1:30pm.  Can’t stay – to go is ALWAYS available.  Consider stopping by and enjoying an hour or two with your Legion Family, you won’t be disappointed with the meal or the company.  Lunch is still only $10.00, which you won’t find anywhere else. ♥

Monthly Lunches

The Auxiliary hosts lunch at the Legion the 2nd Saturday of every month, unless something comes up and we need to switch days.  If anyone has a signature dish and is interested in preparing the luncheon, please let me know.   I can provide you with the details and answer any questions.   Call (315) 567-3143 or email me at keyerita@gmail.com.  Our next luncheon is scheduled for the 10th of June 2023.

SPRING POST CLEANUP

Wow!  What a great day it was this past Saturday.  The weather was perfect and there was approximately 30+ volunteers who came out to help spruce up the outside of our Post 239.  There were more Veterans and Sons who participated but the Auxiliary had a great presence too.  A special thank you to the following ladies who came out to help Karen Dudden, Jen Gannon, Lynne Gregory, Cathy O’Toole, Dot Pitman, Cathy Reilley, Karen Walter, and Mary Jean Williams.   The outside grounds look awesome! 😊

The Syracuse Watchfire is returning to the NYS Fairgrounds this Memorial Day weekend after being canceled for the last three years, due to the recent covid epidemic and associated concerns. This is a very important event for our Veteran Community, and the CNY Veterans Recognition Foundation will now manage watchfire, following the 33 years of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 103 (VVA 103) successfully spearheaded the annual watchfire event. Watchfire 2023 will be held Sunday, May 28 5:00 PM.
