The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the only national student organization for pre-professionals studying communication disorders and sciences (CDS) recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). San Jose State University NSSLHA chapter is a nationally affiliated and a recognized organization at SJSU. NSSLHA hopes to bring undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty together to build connections and learn from one another.

Our mission chapter is to raise public awareness about communication disorders, provide advocacy for individuals with communication needs, prepare students for successful careers in the field of speech-language pathology and audiology, and foster networking opportunities within the profession.

NSSLHA's Day of Giving has been fully funded!
Nsslha participated in SJSU's Day of Giving to raise money to send 5 students to the California Speech and Hearing Association Convergence 2024. NSSLHA raised $3,000 and each participant was allocated $700 to cover transportation and fees.

How much does membership cost?
Membership payment is only for NEW members. It is a one time fee of $25.
Is SJSU NSSLHA the same as National NSSLHA
National NSSLHA is NSSLHA at the national level. SJSU NSSLHA is independently operated by SJSU students. Paying the one time $25 fee does not make you a national NSSLHA member. if you would like to become a National NSSLHA member visit the website to pay the fee and become a member.
