Pastor John is a graduate of the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and has been Pastor of Worship at St. John’s since 2010. From 2010-22 he was also Chaplain of Tyson House Campus Ministry at UT. Before ordination, John was a professional songwriter, with recordings by Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Diamond Rio, and Bryan White.

Pastorally, John loves helping people discern God’s call, as people, professionals, partners, parents – sometimes even as deacons and pastors! Musically, he loves helping people sing together, especially in worship. His hymn, “To You All Hearts Are Open,” is in our hymnal, All Creation Sings.
