Senior Research Engineer of ETRI since 2017,
Research Fellow Board Member of ETRI from 2024 to 2025.
Has participated in: System design, implementation, field verifications, standardization, and theoretical analyses for media broadcasting and wireless system applications.
Proposed: A series of standard technologies adopted into the ATSC 3.0 Physical Layer standard
(System designs for the extended use of MIMO in ATSC 3.0: Related to NOMA, MIMO, channel bonding, etc.).
Major drafter of ATSC 3.0 MIMO Extension standard specifications
Contributed to: The Brazilian TV 3.0 (DTV+) standardization, where ATSC 3.0 augmented with the proposed designs above was selected as the new Brazilian broadcasting standard.
Proposed: A semantic media protocol architecture for generative AI-powered media systems.
Currently contributing to: ATSC 3.0 standardization projects, research activities on terrestrial time transfer systems (BPS), semantic AI media protocol, and multiplexed coexistence of broadcasting and 5G.
Interests: Stochastic analysis, signal processing, and optimization for wireless communications and digital broadcasting.
