After a car crash, a child was killed, and 5 people re-considered their relationships to each other. Media stands in between us and the world, and can we see through the surface and reach the essence of life?

Being invited by Andrew Chan to join "Postdramatic Theatre Laboratory", organised by Alice Theatre Laboratory, to direct a play-reading for "Reading Postdramatic Theatre". Monsun by Anja Hilling has firstly come to my mind. I enjoy one of the ideas of posdramatic theatre: being reflective about the medium. Starting from this initiate point, I asked myself: "What is a Play-Reading? What do audience expect? Can we play with this expectation? How can we tell a story expanding out of the story itself?"

I am always interested in the narrative practise: how we human being redefine our circumstance by telling stories. Such a coincidence, all characters in Monsun have to face difficult times in life, and through telling their own stories to each other to redefine their life, and try to reassure that their lives are live-worthy.

By telling a story of the characters, can we also reassure that our lives are live-worthy?
