I have had a bit of spare time for the past 3 days, and while i have been a bit bored I have been chipping away at making this topic. I have decided to make this topic to help people understand and get help on the Empire building part of GTA Vice City Stories who do not own the Vice City Stories game guide. I have got all this information from the official Brady guide There are quite a few tips in here on how to take over enemy gang members businesses and defending your own sites, so hopefully people will find this helpful . If you find any mistakes anywhere please post Also a big thanks to Brady games guide for giving me this info and a big thanks to CCPD for teh sexeh banner Also thanks to Warp3 for pointing out a couple of mistakes that the Brady Guide had.

There are 30 Empire sites scattered throughout Vice City, 14 on the mainland and 16 around the beach island. Many of these sites are owned and operated by a large gang of bikers, and a couple sites are owned by Marty Williams. Through the course of the first chapter, you take over Marty Williams businesses.

The type of vehicle outside a site depends on which gang owns the site. All biker-owned businesses have a motorcycle out front, but the Sharks have a few different vehicle types that are specific to the type of business they own. This is true of your own sites, each of your different business types has its own specific vehicle type.

The larger your Empire site, the more protection your gang provides, both outside and inside the site. You receive a text message when one of your sites is under attack. The site under attack appears with a blinking parentheses on the map and radar and a damage meter appears. The larger the rival gang attacking the site, the quicker this damage meter falls. You must reach the site before the meter is completely empty and the site is demolished, if you don't reach the site in time, theres a chance your gang will protect it before it falls. The bigger the site, the better chance it stands - literally.

The more businesses you own, the more you get attacked. Dont attack the same gang over and over, they get more aggressive and attack your sites more often. They even attack you on the street when (and where) you least expect it. You also shoudnt build two businesses of the same type near eack other. Some business do better in specific areas of Vice City. The best example of this is in the smuggling business. The closer your business is to a location of the delivery truck, the better.

Although you're attacked often, you need to take over all sites on the map to reach 100% completion of the game. When you succesfully overtake all Empire sites, you unlock a special gift, which is a Bulletproof Empire Vehicles. This makes all vehicles outside your businesses Bulletproof.

The Empire Buildings are first unlocked after the mission To Victor, the Spoils, where Victor Vance forms the Vance Crime Family with the help of Louise Cassidy-Williams. In the mission, Victor raids each of Marty Jay Williams's businesses and eliminates the remnants of his Trailer Park Mafia gang before taking their properties for himself. After that, the player will be able to attack other gang's Empire Buildings around the city.

The player must first destroy the rivals' vehicle parked outside the building. Next, gang members will come out to defend their turf. Once defeated, the player must handle the interior of the building, by killing the remaining members (who attack the player only with their fists or baseball bats) and trashing the assets of the business (which are specific to the business, such as beds for prostitution sites, or printers for loan sharking sites). Once that is completed, the business is put up for sale, and can be turned into any business venture once purchased.

After attacking and seizing an enemy business, the gang that previously owned it may either attempt to seize a business that the player owns or send even more enemies after him, making it hard to keep on taking over sites.

These business sites, when entered, have members of Vic's gang inside. Some of them are indicated by a blue arrow, and when approached, can trigger specific missions by pressing the UP(PSP)/R3(PS2) button. These missions are based around the business of the operation, so smuggling businesses yield smuggling missions, for example. They may be cancelled by pressing the same button twice. Workers may also be found inside. Additional gang members can be found on the street right outside of the site. These gang members can be recruited to assist Victor in taking over other gang businesses, and will also immediately attack any enemy gang members that come close to a Vance property, similarly to the Vercetti Gang in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. To recruit them, they must be targeted and then the UP(PSP)/R3(PS2) button must be pressed. However, gang members cannot be recruited during storyline missions.

The empire sites may come under attack from rival gangs, because to gain new sites, the player must seize them from other gangs and they will try the same in return. However, empires will only come under attack if Vance starts a war with the rival gang, which is activated when taking over one of their empire businesses. If the rival gang succeeds in damaging the site, its daily income will drop, or rarely, it can even be seized by the other gang. In order to return a damaged site to full capacity, Vic will need to pay a repair fee of $500 or $1,500. In order to avoid such scenarios, the player may just resort to maintaining sites obtained during the storyline and/or acquiring business sites that are put up for sale. Some of them may be put up for sale by default, while others can be put up for sale once they are lost in a gang war. Just like Victor and certain gangs can have a rivalry, other gangs can have a rivalry between them as well. They may be found randomly fighting in the streets around empire sites, such as the Bikers fighting the Cholos, or the Sharks fighting the Bikers.

Intact empire sites have 4 health points. Once a rival gang attacks Victor's empire sites (and Victor does not reach the area of the attack in due time), or two rival gangs attack one another's empire sites, the attacked empire site loses one health point. Such an attack on one of Victor's empire sites is announced by a message notifying the player that a business in a certain area is under attack, as well as a damage bar appearing on the screen and filling up over time. Furthermore, a special, distress empire icon will appear on the radar. If the attacked site is not repaired and is subject to further gang attacks, it will keep on losing one health point during each attack. Eventually, once it reaches 0 health points, it will be put up for sale. This rule does not apply when Victor takes over sites, because the player only needs to successfully attack a business site once in order for it to come up for sale. Not only do damaged sites appear as such on the map, but they are also visibly damaged when driven by. For example, soot stains can be seen, as though the site had been set on fire, and some walls of the building may also appear to have been peeled off. (For further information regarding these aspects, please check the gallery).

As an added bonus, sites controlled by Victor also act as safehouses, with a save point being located somewhere within the premises. No garage, health or wardrobe services are available, however all business sites have a specific vehicle parked outside. Also, on the inside, there is a notice board, which is used for either developing or repairing a site. Once all thirty empire sites are taken over by the player, the vehicles that spawn outside of them will become bulletproof and pop-proof. In addition, much like gang warfare in GTA: San Andreas, attacks on properties and random attacks on Vic will also completely cease (for the most part; occasional random attacks by Cholos members on foot may still happen, due to the events of O, Brothel, Where Art Thou?, but they will not attack business sites once all 30 are purchased).

By 1986, two years after the events of GTA Vice City Stories, it is assumed that the Vance Crime Family has lost control of all of the empire sites after they were completely wiped out, as they are no longer there and have either become an entirely new building or just an empty lot. From north to south, on each side of the city, the locations of the former sites have become:

Assets will be available after completing the mission "Shakedown", and also involve a variety of services that can generate profit for you. However, for you to achieve that you will need to finish a questline related to the Asset involved, and each one has its own chain of missions.

While not seen directly in the trailer, two highway signs point in the direction of Vice City International Airport. Being a major city, it is only natural for there to be a large airport. The name change from Escobar International Airport makes sense since it would break a lot of the immersion to have an airport named after a notorious drug kingpin.

The original map for Vice City has four major bridges connecting the two main islands. With what is one hundred percent going to be a bigger map, there will certainly be more bridges to cross, jump off, and drive or fly under. It is still up in the air whether the city of Vice City itself will be two main islands connected by bridges or if it will have a different overall shape.
