## Overview

Sip is a hydration tracking app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

## Data Collection

Sip does **not** collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data stays on your device.

## Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to any server:

- **Hydration logs** — drink entries (type, amount, timestamp)

- **Preferences** — daily goal, reminder interval, quiet hours, unit preferences

- **Favorite containers** — saved drink presets

This data is stored using Android's local storage (Room database and DataStore). It is not accessible to other apps.

## Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. There is no automatic expiration or deletion of your data. Your hydration logs, preferences, and saved containers remain on your device until you choose to delete them.

## Data Deletion

You can delete your data in the following ways:

- **Individual drink entries** — swipe to delete any drink entry from the daily log or dashboard.

- **Daily logs** — delete all entries for a specific date from the drink log screen.

- **Clear all data** — go to Settings → Clear All Data to permanently erase all hydration logs, preferences, and saved containers from the app.

- **Uninstall the app** — uninstalling Sip removes all locally stored data from your device.

If you have enabled Health Connect integration, hydration data that was previously written to Health Connect can be managed directly through the Health Connect app on your device.

## Device-to-Device Sync

If you use Sip on both a phone and a Wear OS watch, the app syncs your data between the two devices using Android's Wearable Data Layer API. This communication happens directly between your paired devices over Bluetooth. No data passes through any external server.

## Health Connect

If you choose to enable Health Connect integration, Sip can read your weight and write hydration data to Health Connect. This data stays within the Health Connect system on your device. Sip does not transmit this data externally.

## In-App Purchases

Sip Premium is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play. Sip does not collect or store any payment information.

## Third-Party Services

Sip does not use any analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services.

## Children's Privacy

Sip does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the app complies with applicable children's privacy regulations.

## Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same URL with an updated date.
