Introduction
Smart Internet of Things (IoT) systems leverage computational capabilities of resource-limited IoT devices to unleash new paradigm of pervasive computing that optimizes performance in terms of energy efficiency, communication efficiency, security, and privacy.
Smart IoT systems research group focuses on multi-facet research areas related to smart computing and efficient communication using plethora of artificial intelligence (AI), and optimization techniques to tackle many issues for different IoT applications. The group focuses on research areas, including smart health and internet of medical things (IoMT), multi-drone systems and internet of flying things (IoFT), Blockchain-powered systems, and multi-access technology for 5G/6G networks. The group utilizes state-of-the-art AI techniques such as distributed inference, federated learning, reinforcement learning, active learning, in addition to variety of distributed optimization techniques such as game theory, and multi-agent reinforcement learning.
