Primary Years - Grade levels 1 to 5 (Age 6-10)

Building the right foundation for children is a really important task. Primary years form child`s routines, learning mechanism, and habits. All future education depends on these first years. GEMS World Academy provide different specialized areas where students and teachers utilize them as learning areas. IB Primary Years Programme is a framework suitable for students aged 3 to 12. As an international school, the main focus is to develop academic and social qualities, focused and based on international diversity. It is really important for children to be nurtured into having an independent learning skill set and responsibility. The programme includes 6 transdisciplinary themes and links between them - ‘who we are’, ‘where we are in place and time’ and ‘how the world works’. Secondary Years - Grade levels 6 to 12 (Age 11-17)

GEMS World Academy located in Singapore is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, accredited for Middle Years and Diploma Programme.

Students from Grades 6th to 10th are supposed to be creative and critical thinkers. The five-year programme is built to provide a framework for uniting pedagogical processes and personal traits of students. The major concept of the International Secondary Years programme is a student to choose within 8 subject groups. Students are having 3 x 1 hour of every group. Remaining hours are for health education and service activities. There is a specific focus on body knowledge, conception of building skills and attitude. In GEMS Singapore professional educators are trying to provide framework suitable for college requirements.

Students from Grades 11th to 12th are prepared for success at university. IB Diploma Programme includes three subjects at Higher Level and three subjects at Standard Level. This is really suitable for students who want to attend to subjects of particular interest. International Baccalaureate Diploma includes several mandatory subjects, as Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity and Service. Students who didn`t complete all of them are not going to receive IB diploma.

Language programme

It offers language teaching and different learning opportunities. GEMS encourage mother-tongue languages of international students. This is the main reason why they have mother-tongue classes from Grades 1 to 10. English language is the core language in the Academy and strongly developed during the education. Foreign language programme includes Mandarin, Spanish and French. For those who have limited experience with the English language, GEMS provides English Support Programme.
