Every time I import sims with long hair, the hair comes out looking like the first picture with some dark shade boxes or whatever this is? Also, depending on the type of hair it comes out even more worse then before unless the hair is short like the 2nd picture...
Depending on the hair and how long it is and how many layers it has, it might take like a good 10 to 15 minutes maybe less or longer... However, if there is a faster way of doing this. I would love to hear your feedback on it. It would honestly be VERY helpful to me and the wonderful Sims community.
You can already see where grey unselected parts show through the orange selected parts, that there could be some duplicate geometry. If I now hide the selection with H, there still is a hair strand in place which is (almost) identical:
Unfortunately all this is tedious, manual work. At least I do not see any good way to do it, maybe someone else has an idea. And I don't know if there are settings upon extracting the models which can avoid these duplicate faces. Most likely the reason for the mesh to be like that is that game engines often work with backface culling, which means a face would be invisible if seen from the backside. The body of the model is a closed mesh so you always see the frontside of the faces, hence no need for duplicate faces. The hair strands however are just row of flat faces, so if would look at them from the backside they would disappear. And that's why the hair strands are duplicated, one version to look at from the front, one version to look at from behind - as you can see if you enable the Face Orientation overlay, the regular tri strand shows the frontside (blue), the other strand shows the backside (red):

The Delight cc pack feature three male cc styles for your guys (or girls, too!) and each one is amazing. Evan is a top-bun, Peter is a classic messy short hair cc style, and Brent is the typical shaggy male hairstyle!
Lastly go the mesh tab again and hit the 3 dots next to mesh. Change all the TagValues to FFFFFFFF. Do the same for all 4 LODs. This step is essential. If you skip this step your hair will be plain black in game.

A week after the military announced it would relax hair rules for women, a sailor has confirmed she will be discharged Friday from the Navy after a 12-year career for failing to obey an order to cut off her natural hairstyle.
Chief of Naval Personnel spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Chris Servello said Sims will be discharged for disobeying a lawful order. Her chain of command at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes in Illinois ordered her to get her hair within regulations earlier this year, soon after she reported in April.
Sims' discharge comes just a week after the Department of Defense announced it would make dreadlocks, cornrows, twisted braids and other hairstyles popular among African-American women more acceptable after a review of its policies.
Sims said that her hair had never been a problem until she checked in at Great Lakes. Before her move to boot camp, she had spent seven years as an instructor at Naval Medicine Training Support Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, The Basic School at Quantico, Va., and Field Medical Service School at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
She contended that hair regulations are biased against the natural hairstyles of many African-American women. The Navy's uniform regulations specifically ban "widely spaced individual hanging locks," but Sims said that because hers are closely spaced and worn in a bun, they don't violate the rules.
The Navy said her chain of command gave her multiple opportunities to cut her hair, but Sims said that amounted to shaving off her locks and wearing a wig. Her discharge came down to disobeying her command's order to shear off her locks. In addition, Servello said, there were some safety concerns to consider.
"As depicted in the photos that Petty Officer Sims provided, you can clearly see the size of the bun that she wears her hair in is out of regulation," he said. "Bulky hair makes it difficult to wear headgear and safety equipment like a gas mask, hard hat or firefighting ensemble properly."
hey there! i've been using your hairs in my game for a while now and js downloaded your GORGEOUS Santino hair. unfortunately i saw an issue on the back of the hair. i tried the hair on a sample sim and it turns out, the issue is with max muscle slider sims. i also messaged u on twitter from @puddle1126 with pictures too!
Hey, sorry for a random question, but do you allow your hair to be converted to other Sims games? I really love them and would be great to use them in Sims 2, but I don't want to break any rules and convert them without permission.
If you struggle finding something between realistic coloring and complementary coloring for your Sims, you could trial and error for hours to make combinations or just save hair colors you see on "The Exchange" or "In Game". Alternatively, with some playing around and trial and error you can make mock hair swatches based on real hair dye swatches. This requires some work but not too much if you are wanting to try it. But if you just want to see and use our examples already done for you that is just fine too, but a pen and paper will be helpful.
Requirements: Windows Paint Application, a screenshot or sample of the hair swatch, pen and paper. To make it easier only worry about assigning colors for Roots, Base and Highlights/Tips you can use the same.
