Personal Data via Google Account: When you choose to use the "Sync & Backup" feature, you will be asked to sign in with your Google Account. We authenticate your identity using Google Sign-In services. We do not store your Google password.
User Content: This includes the notes, to-do lists, tasks, categories, and other content you create within the App. This data is stored locally on your device and, if sync is enabled, uploaded to your personal Google Drive.
Device and Usage Data: We may collect non-personal information about your mobile device, such as the device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers to help us debug crashes and improve app performance (via tools like Firebase Crashlytics or Google Analytics).
2. Google Drive Integration and Data Sync
SimplyNote offers a feature to sync and backup your notes to Google Drive. To facilitate this:
Permissions: The App requests access to your Google Drive storage. This access is strictly limited to the specific folder or files created by SimplyNote. We do not access, view, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
Data Handling: Your notes are encrypted and sent directly from your device to Google’s servers. We do not store your notes on our own external servers, nor do we have access to your private content stored on your Drive.
Limited Use: Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
To create and manage your account and content.
To enable the synchronization of your notes across devices via Google Drive.
To allow you to organize content using categories (Task, Diary, Work, Personal).
To fix bugs, analyze trends, and improve the App's interface and performance.
4. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: Your notes are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for securing access to your physical device.
Cloud Storage: If you enable sync, your data is stored securely on Google Drive servers, protected by Google’s security protocols.
Security Measures: We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may employ third-party companies and services due to the following reasons:
To facilitate our Service;
To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used (e.g., Google Firebase, AdMob). These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
6. Children’s Privacy
SimplyNote is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our records.
