Empress LaTara hails from Jamaica’s Maroon community and was chosen by her Ancestors as an Oracle and Spiritual Leader through a series of prophetic initiation dreams. In these dreams, Queen Nanny and Captain Cudjoe, revered leaders of the Maroons, provided teachings and sacred responsibilities. Her Arawak Ancestors also came forward with ceremonial offerings which signified spiritual covenants. Raised by a Kumina Queen, Obeah and Indigenous healer, Empress LaTara learned the power of her Ancestors' spirituality firsthand. Her visions, including missing person predictions, have been recognized by law enforcement.

A bush woman, master herbalist, and reiki practitioner, Empress LaTara leads healing circles, speaks at conferences, serves as resident Dream Oracle for the BIPOC Herbalism community, and collaborates with leaders in the Maroon and reggae communities. She is internationally renowned for her unique channeling abilities, intuitive readings, and extraordinary healing work with indigenous plants.
