Privacy Policy
ScrapeSuit
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Instant Data Scraper (the “Extension”) accesses, processes, stores, and handles information when you use the Extension. The Extension is designed to allow a user to extract publicly displayed information from webpages selected by the user and export the resulting information into structured Excel or CSV files.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Instant Data Scraper Chrome extension and its current data-handling functionality. It describes the information the Extension may access while performing a scraping operation, how that information is processed, the limited browser storage used during an active session, and what happens when the user exports results.
This policy is intended to describe the Extension as it currently operates. If future versions introduce functionality that materially changes how information is transmitted, stored, shared, or otherwise processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
Instant Data Scraper is a browser extension for extracting structured information from webpages selected by the user. Its documented functionality includes extracting post data from supported social platforms and exporting results to Excel or CSV. Depending on the webpage and functionality used, the Extension may also identify structured tables, lists, reviews, and other information displayed on supported webpages.
The Extension also includes optional functionality for reading text contained in images (OCR), categorising image content, detecting language, and calculating an expected investment value when the user enters a cost-per-view value.
When the user explicitly initiates a scraping operation, the Extension may access information displayed on the webpage that the user has selected for analysis.
Depending on the website and the scraping mode, this may include:
· Post captions or text.
· Views and view counts.
· Likes and like counts.
· Comments and comment counts.
· Shares and share counts where the website displays or makes them available.
· Post or publication dates.
· Post, page, or item URLs.
· Thumbnails and other publicly displayed images.
· Review information, where supported by the Extension.
· Optional comment text when the user specifically enables that functionality.
· Text contained within images when the user explicitly enables OCR.
· Other publicly displayed webpage information required to perform the user's requested scrape.
The exact information available depends on what the relevant website displays and makes accessible to the browser. Some fields may be unavailable or blank where the underlying website does not display or expose that information.
The Extension is designed to act on webpages selected by the user. A typical workflow involves the user opening a supported webpage, initiating the Extension, selecting or configuring the desired scraping functionality, and starting the scrape.
For deeper scraping functionality, the Extension may open individual posts or pages one at a time to read additional information that is not visible in a grid or listing. The user controls whether to initiate this functionality.
The Extension may require the user to remain logged in to the relevant website where the website only displays certain information to authenticated users. The Extension does not receive the user's website password through the scraping workflow.
Information accessed by the Extension is processed only to provide the functionality requested by the user, including:
· Detecting and identifying relevant posts, items, tables, lists, or reviews.
· Extracting structured fields from webpage content.
· Performing deeper extraction when the user selects Deep Scrape.
· Reading text from images when the user enables OCR.
· Categorising image content and detecting image language where supported.
· Calculating expected investment values when the user enters a cost-per-view value.
· Organising extracted information into structured rows and columns.
· Generating Excel or CSV files for the user's use.
The Extension does not use scraped information for advertising, behavioural profiling, selling data, or unrelated purposes.
The Extension performs its scraping and data-processing operations within the user's browser. Scraped results may be temporarily held in browser session storage during an active scraping operation so that the Extension can maintain its working state while the operation is in progress.
This temporary browser-side storage is not a developer-controlled database and is not intended to provide the developer with a copy of the user's scraped information.
Instant Data Scraper does not transmit scraped information to servers controlled by the Extension developer. The Extension does not upload scraped results to a developer-controlled database.
The Extension does not sell scraped information or provide scraped information to third parties for advertising, profiling, marketing, or unrelated purposes.
The absence of developer-controlled collection does not mean that the underlying websites being accessed by the user cannot independently process information under their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy applies to Instant Data Scraper, not to the websites the user visits.
When the user chooses an export option, the Extension creates an Excel or CSV file containing the results of the user's scraping operation. The user decides whether and when to create an export and controls the resulting file.
The Extension does not upload the generated Excel or CSV file to the Extension developer. The user is responsible for how an exported file is subsequently stored, shared, emailed, uploaded, or otherwise handled outside the Extension.
The Extension provides an optional OCR feature that can read text contained in images. When enabled, the feature may extract on-image text, assign a content type, and identify the language of the image text.
OCR processing is performed locally in the user's browser using processing resources included with the Extension. Images and OCR results are not sent by the Extension to the developer or to a third-party OCR service.
The current OCR functionality supports English and Hindi text. Other scripts may be labelled as regional assets according to the Extension's functionality.
The Extension may use Chrome's browser storage mechanisms to maintain temporary scraping state and user configuration needed for the Extension to operate. In particular, temporary session storage may contain information associated with an active scraping operation.
This browser-side storage is used to operate the Extension and is not a mechanism for sending the information to the developer.
The current Extension is not designed to collect or maintain a developer-controlled database of users' scraped results. The Extension does not intentionally collect users' passwords, payment-card numbers, or authentication credentials for the websites being scraped.
Users should not intentionally use the Extension to extract or export information that they are not authorised to access. Users are responsible for complying with the terms, policies, laws, and contractual restrictions applicable to the websites and information they access.
The Extension can operate on webpages provided by third-party websites and platforms. Those websites may independently collect, use, store, or share information about their users and visitors. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
Instant Data Scraper does not control the privacy practices, content, availability, or security practices of third-party websites.
Because the Extension is designed to process scraped information within the user's browser and does not transmit scraped results to developer-controlled servers, the Extension does not maintain a central developer-controlled repository of scraped results.
Users should nevertheless protect their own browser, computer, downloaded files, and accounts. Once an Excel or CSV file has been downloaded, its security depends on the user's device, storage location, and subsequent handling of that file.
The Extension does not maintain a developer-controlled retention period for scraped results because scraped results are not transmitted to or stored in a developer-controlled database.
Temporary browser-side session data may exist while an active scraping operation is running. Such temporary data is operational state used by the Extension and is not retained by the developer as a separate copy.
Exported files are retained according to the user's own device and file-management practices. The Extension does not control how long the user keeps an exported file.
The current version of Instant Data Scraper does not share scraped information with the Extension developer or third parties.
The user may independently choose to share exported files or information obtained through the Extension. Any such sharing is initiated and controlled by the user and is outside the Extension's current data-transmission functionality.
Future versions may introduce additional functionality, including optional features that could allow users to share data by email or store files in a user's Google Drive, as well as paid or usage-limited functionality.
These are not described as current data-sharing capabilities because they are not part of the current functionality covered by this policy. If such functionality is introduced and changes how information is transmitted, stored, shared, or accessed, the Extension's privacy disclosures and this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the applicable practices.
The Extension is not specifically directed at children. Users should use the Extension in accordance with applicable laws and the requirements of the websites they access.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the Extension's functionality, data practices, or applicable requirements change. The updated policy will include a revised effective date. Users are encouraged to review the policy periodically.

In simple terms: Instant Data Scraper accesses webpage information when the user asks it to scrape a webpage; processes the requested information in the user's browser; may temporarily maintain scraping state in browser session storage while the operation is active; creates an Excel or CSV file when the user requests an export; and does not transmit the scraped results to the Extension developer or third parties in its current functionality.
Important implementation note: This policy is based on the extension documentation supplied for drafting and the current implementation details reviewed in this conversation.
