This Privacy Policy describes how the Simple Workout Log: Free App mobile application ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), published by MonMon Apps (package name: com.monmonapps.android.workouttracker), handles information about you when you use the App on your Android device.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
WorkoutApp is a personal strength-training and cardio tracking app that is designed to work primarily offline on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect, transmit, or store your workout data on our servers.
The only data that leaves your device is:
Information requested by Google AdMob to deliver and measure advertising (see Section 5).
Information you voluntarily share by exporting your data file or tapping links that open external apps (such as the Google Play Store).
The App stores the following information only on your device, using the Android Room database and Android Jetpack DataStore. We do not have access to this information, and it is never uploaded to our servers:
Workout records: workout sessions, sets (weight, repetitions or hold time), cardio records (duration, distance, heart rate if you enter it), mood stamps (1–5 emoji), and free-text memos that you enter.
Menus and exercises: custom workout menus you create, including exercise selections, target weights, reps, sets, and rest times.
Favorites: exercises you mark as favorite.
App preferences: weight unit (kg/lb), theme (light/dark/system), color theme, default rest seconds, weekly goal days, per-muscle recovery hours, and whether you have dismissed the in-app rating prompt.
Notification preferences related to the optional weekly goal reminder.
This information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App (unless you have created a backup file yourself; see Section 2.3).
We do not collect any of the following:
Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details (the App does not ask for them).
Your precise or approximate location.
Your contacts, photos, camera input, microphone input, or files outside the App's own storage.
Health, fitness, or biometric data from Google Fit, Health Connect, or any wearable device. The App does not integrate with these services.
Any analytics, crash logs, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers collected directly by us. (See Section 5 for what Google AdMob may collect.)
The App provides a feature to export your data as a JSON file to a location of your choice on your device, and to import a previously exported file. The exported file contains the workout data described in Section 2.1. You control where this file is saved, who you share it with, and whether to import it back. We do not have access to exported files.
The App requests the following Android permissions:
Permission
Why it is used
INTERNET
Required by Google AdMob to load advertisements.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Required by Google AdMob to detect network availability before requesting ads.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)
Used to show optional local reminders about your weekly workout goal. You can disable notifications at any time from Android's system settings.
The App does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, Bluetooth, or any other sensitive permission.
Because we do not collect personal information ourselves, we do not use it. The workout data you enter is used on your device only, in order to:
Display your workout history, statistics, streaks, and muscle recovery status.
Generate charts and reports about your training.
Let you back up and restore your data via the export/import feature.
Show local reminder notifications (if enabled) for your weekly goal.
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC. AdMob may collect and process information for purposes including delivering and measuring advertisements, such as:
Device information (e.g., device model, operating system version, language).
Network information (e.g., IP address, mobile network).
Advertising identifiers (such as Android's Advertising ID).
Approximate, IP-based location (AdMob does not receive precise GPS location from this App because the App does not request the location permission).
Information about ad interactions.
Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own policies, not ours. For details, please review:
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
AdMob & AdSense Personalized Advertising: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/7676680
You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time from your Android device under Settings → Google → Ads.
The App may open the Google Play Store (via an external intent) when you tap the in-app rating prompt. We do not control what data Google collects when you visit the Play Store.
The App does not integrate with Firebase, Crashlytics, Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook, or any other analytics, attribution, or marketing SDK at the time of this policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, because we do not collect any. The only data flow leaving your device is the AdMob traffic described in Section 5.1, which is handled by Google directly.
We may disclose information about the App (not personal data) if required to do so by law, by court order, or to enforce our rights under our terms of service.
All workout data is stored locally on your device and is retained until you delete it (by removing individual records inside the App or by uninstalling the App).
Uninstalling the App will delete all local data, unless you have separately saved an exported JSON file.
You can export your data at any time from Settings → Data Export in the App, and import it back from Settings → Data Import.
For data processed by Google AdMob, please follow Google's process for managing or deleting advertising data: https://safety.google/privacy/data/
We have no servers and therefore have no copies of your workout data to delete on request.
The App is intended for general audiences and is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
If the App is used by a minor, a parent or legal guardian should supervise its use, including the display of advertisements.
Workout data is stored in your device's private app storage, which is sandboxed by Android. The security of this storage depends on the security of your device (e.g., screen lock, OS updates). Because the App does not transmit your workout data over the Internet, there is no server-side breach risk for that data on our side.
Please keep your device's operating system up to date and avoid installing the App on devices you do not trust.
The App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store wherever Google makes it available. Because workout data stays on your device, no cross-border transfer of that data is performed by us. Data processed by Google AdMob may be transferred and processed in countries other than your own, under Google's policies (see Section 5.1).
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding your personal information.
Because we do not collect or hold your personal information:
You can exercise the right of access and portability by using the in-app Data Export feature.
You can exercise the right of deletion by deleting records inside the App or by uninstalling the App.
For data handled by Google AdMob, please exercise your rights directly with Google (see Section 5.1).
If you have questions about your rights, contact us at the address in Section 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example, to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as an in-app message). Your continued use of the App after the updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
