SimpleReader is a free text-to-speech Chrome extension that reads web pages aloud. This policy explains what data it handles.
What we collect
Email address (optional). When you first open SimpleReader, you may optionally provide your email address to receive product updates. This is the only personal information the extension collects, and every feature works if you skip it.
What we do not collect
We do not collect the content of the pages you read or listen to. Text is converted to speech locally on your device by Chrome's built-in speech engine and is never sent to any server. We do not collect browsing history, page URLs, or usage analytics, and we do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
How your email is used and stored
If provided, your email is stored in a private spreadsheet accessible only to the developer and used solely to send occasional updates about SimpleReader. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Your reading-speed preference is stored locally in your browser and never leaves your device.
Data removal
To have your email address deleted from our records, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new last-updated date.
