Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: [03-06-2026]
This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Browser (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use the App. Simple Browser is a web browser application designed to provide simple web browsing, tabs, incognito mode, bookmarks, downloads, backup and restore options, and basic privacy-related tools.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
Simple Browser is designed to keep most user data locally on your device. Depending on how you use the App, the following types of information may be stored on your device:
Browsing history, unless you use incognito mode.
Bookmarks and favorite pages.
Open or saved tabs.
Download records, such as file name, file type, download status, and file Uri.
App settings and preferences.
Search engine preferences.
Most visited and recent page information.
Locally saved passwords, only if you choose to save them.
This information is primarily stored locally on your device and is used to provide browser features such as history, bookmarks, downloads, tab management, and user preferences.
When you browse normally, the App may store visited page information locally on your device. This may include page title, website address, visit time, and visit count.
Browsing history is used to show recent pages, most visited pages, and browsing history inside the App.
You can delete browsing history from within the App settings or history screen.
When you use incognito mode, visited pages are not saved to browsing history. The App also avoids using password-saving features in incognito tabs.
Please note that incognito mode only affects data stored by the App. Websites, internet service providers, network administrators, or other third parties may still be able to see your activity depending on your network and the websites you visit.
The App allows you to save websites as bookmarks or favorites. Bookmark data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export it or include it in a backup.
Bookmark information may include website title, website address, folder/category information, visit count, and last visited time.
Simple Browser uses Android’s modern file access system, including the Storage Access Framework. When you download a file, the App asks you to choose the save location using the Android system file picker.
The App does not request “Manage all files” access and does not require broad storage permissions to save downloaded files.
The App may store download records locally, such as the file name, file Uri, file type, download status, and download date, so you can view, open, share, or manage downloaded files from inside the App.
If you choose to save website login information inside the App, the App may store the saved credentials locally on your device. Saved passwords are protected by local app security mechanisms and access to the password screen requires device lock authentication when available, such as PIN, pattern, password, or biometric authentication.
Passwords are not included in regular JSON backups or Google Drive backups in the current version of the App.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure. If your device lock is disabled or compromised, saved data on the device may be at risk.
The App provides backup and restore options.
You may export a local backup file in JSON format. This backup may include data such as bookmarks, browsing history, tabs, download records, and app settings.
The backup file is created only when you choose to export it, and it is saved in a location selected by you using the Android system file picker.
The App may provide an optional backup and restore feature using your own Google Drive account. This feature requires you to sign in with your Google account and grant the required Drive permission.
The App uses Google Drive only to store and restore the App backup file in your own Google account. The backup is not stored on our own server.
Google Drive backup does not include saved passwords in the current version.
Your use of Google Drive is also subject to Google’s own privacy policy and terms.
If you use the Google Drive backup feature, the App may request access to your Google account for authentication and to store or restore backup data in Google Drive.
The App uses this access only for backup and restore features requested by you. We do not use your Google account to access unrelated files, contacts, email, or other Google services.
The App may request certain permissions depending on the features you use:
The App uses internet access to load websites, download files, show web content, and display ads.
The App may request notification permission to show download status or related app notifications, depending on your Android version and settings.
Some websites may request access to your camera or microphone. The App only requests these permissions when a website asks for them and after you allow access.
The App does not use the camera or microphone in the background.
Some websites may request location access. The App only requests location permission when a website asks for it and after you allow access.
The App does not use your location for background tracking.
The App uses Android system file pickers to let you choose files to upload or choose where to save downloads and backups. The App handles selected files through Android Uri access.
The App does not request broad all-files access.
The App may display ads to support development. Ads may include:
A lightweight banner ad on the home screen.
An app open ad when opening the App, with limited frequency.
Ads are not intended to appear in incognito mode.
We use Google AdMob as an advertising provider. AdMob and its partners may collect and process certain information such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interaction data, and ad performance data to provide, limit, personalize, and measure ads, depending on your region, consent choices, and device settings.
You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services by visiting Google’s privacy resources.
Where required by law, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other applicable regions, the App may ask for your consent for personalized ads or related data processing through Google’s consent tools or other consent mechanisms.
The App may use analytics or diagnostic tools to understand app performance, detect crashes, improve stability, and improve user experience.
If analytics or crash reporting services are enabled, they may collect technical information such as device type, Android version, app version, crash logs, performance data, and general usage events.
We do not use analytics to read the content of websites you visit or the content of files you download.
If no analytics service is enabled in the App, this section applies only to future versions if analytics is added and disclosed in the Google Play Data safety section.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate app features, such as:
Google AdMob for displaying ads.
Google services for Google Sign-In and Google Drive backup, if you use those features.
Analytics or crash reporting services, if enabled.
These third-party services process data according to their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Data stored locally by the App remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall the App, or use in-app deletion tools.
You can delete browsing history, bookmarks, downloads records, saved data, or backups using the available app settings and system options.
Local JSON backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete them manually.
Google Drive backups remain in your Google Drive account until deleted through the App, Google Drive, or your Google account controls, depending on available functionality.
Simple Browser is not specifically directed to children. The App is intended for general audiences.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. However, because the App is a web browser, users may access websites and online services that are not controlled by us. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s internet use and use device-level parental controls when appropriate.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
Simple Browser allows users to access websites and online services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, cookies, trackers, login systems, downloads, or data collection practices of third-party websites.
When you visit a website, that website may collect information according to its own privacy policy. You should review the privacy policy of websites you visit.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data handled by the App. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because most data is stored locally on your device, the security of your device is important. You should keep your device updated, use a secure device lock, and avoid installing apps from untrusted sources.
Depending on the services used, data processed by third-party providers such as Google may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence. Such processing is subject to the privacy policies and legal terms of those third-party providers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
