Simoom (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our Android applications, “তাফহীমুল কুরআন” and “Tafheemul Quran” (collectively, the “Apps”).

The Apps are designed primarily to provide users with access to Quranic text, translations, and commentary (Tafseer). Most features and core content are embedded directly within the Apps, allowing them to function without requiring an online account, subscription, or connection to our servers.

1. No Collection of Personal Data

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) from users through the Apps.

You are not required to provide any personal information- such as your name, email address, phone number, location, physical address, or payment information- to use the Apps.

2. No User Accounts or Authentication

The Apps operate without user accounts or login systems. We do not create user profiles, nor do we link your usage activity or interaction history to your identity.

3. Local Data Storage (Bookmarks, Search History, and Reading Progress)

Certain functional data- including your Bookmarks, Search History, and Reading Progress- are stored exclusively on your local Android device.

• Server Transmission: This data is never transmitted to, accessed by, or stored on our servers.

• Data Retention: Clearing the Apps’ data, uninstalling the Apps, or formatting your device will result in the permanent deletion of this locally stored information.

4. No Server-Side Storage

We do not maintain external database servers or cloud storage facilities for user data related to the Tafheemul Quran Apps. All core application resources, including text, translations, and commentaries, are stored locally on your device upon installation.

5. Location Information

We do not track, request, collect, or store your location data. The Apps do not require access to your device’s GPS, network-based location services, or location permissions.

6. Device Permissions

The Apps do not request sensitive device permissions. Specifically, the Apps do not require access to your:

• Camera or microphone

• Contacts or phone state

• Location services

• External storage permissions beyond the standard storage required for app installation and operation

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

To maintain a clean, distraction-free environment for religious and educational reading:

• No Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics tools or tracking technologies, such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Meta/Facebook Pixel.

• No Advertisements: The Apps are completely ad-free. We do not display third-party advertisements or work with advertising networks.

8. Disclosure to Third Parties

Because we do not collect or retain any personal data, we do not sell, rent, trade, or share user information with third parties.

Platform Operations: The Apps are distributed through the Google Play Store. Google Play and the Android operating system may collect basic telemetry, diagnostics, or other technical information in accordance with their own standard operating procedures and privacy practices. Such platform-level data collection is beyond our direct control and is governed by Google’s applicable privacy policies.

9. Third-Party Web Links

The Apps or our official website may occasionally contain links to third-party websites or services. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to the relevant third-party website or service.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, security, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

10. Children’s Privacy

Tafheemul Quran is a general-audience educational and religious application suitable for users of all ages, including children. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

Because no personal data is collected through the Apps, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Apps. This policy is intended to support compliance with applicable privacy requirements, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), where applicable.

11. Data Security

Because we do not store user data on central servers or cloud platforms, we do not maintain a centralized database containing users’ personal information. Local data stored on your device is protected by the security controls provided by your device’s operating system.

12. User Rights

Under applicable privacy frameworks, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users may have rights regarding access to, correction of, and deletion of their personal information.

Because we do not collect or store users’ personal data, we do not maintain personal records that can be accessed, corrected, or deleted upon request. You retain control over locally stored data through your device settings, including by clearing the Apps’ data or uninstalling the Apps.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in app functionality, new features, or applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
