Biographical Sketch

Simone Romano was born in Potenza (Italy) on December 22nd, 1987. He received his master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Basilicata (Potenza, Italy) in October 2014. In December 2014, he started the Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Basilicata, in collaboration with the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), under the supervision of prof. Giuseppe Scanniello. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Salento in July 2018. In September 2018, he joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari (Bari, Italy) as a postdoctoral research fellow first, and (fixed-term) assistant professor later. Since January 2022, he has been a (fixed-term) assistant professor at the University of Salerno (Fisciano, Italy). He has served in the organization and has been a program committee member of several international conferences/workshops including, among others, International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement (ESEM), International Conference on Program Comprehension (ICPC), and Euromicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA). Ha has also been a reviewer for international journals like Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE), Information and Software Technology (IST), Journal of Systems and Software (JSS), Journal of Software: Evolution and Process (JSEP), and IEEE Access.
