Jonghwan (Simon) Kim is a Professor of Accounting at Yonsei University School of Business in Seoul, South Korea. His research explores a wide range of topics, including performance measurement, managerial incentives, corporate governance, and narrative analysis, with a growing interest in applying machine learning techniques to business research.
He earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and previously held academic appointments at Alliance Manchester Business School in the UK and Università Bocconi in Italy. His research has been published extensively, covering areas such as CEO behavior, employee satisfaction, and innovation.
In addition to his research, Professor Kim is actively engaged in academic leadership. He served as Associate Dean for the MBA programs in 2024 and as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs from 2024 to 2025, while also taking on leadership roles in the School’s research centers.
His work has been recognized with various awards and grants, including the Best Paper Award from the Performance Management Association Conference and multiple research grants from the Korean National Research Fund.
