China Simis Company owns several foundries and forging factories, offering OEM and customized metal casting and forging services worldwide. Our products are used in various industries, including automotive, industrial manufacturing, mining, agriculture, chemical processing, municipal services, engineering, shipbuilding, and machinery manufacturing.
Simis Group is located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. The Group includes Taiyuan SIMIS Investment Casting Co., Ltd. and Shanxi KSN Precision Forging Technology Development Co., Ltd.
With the company’s continuous growth and business expansion, by 2021, SIMIS had developed into a sizable group enterprise. Our manufacturing capabilities have evolved from a single investment casting process to include sand casting, investment casting, shell casting, lost foam casting, open-die forging, closed-die forging, and other metal casting and forging techniques.
Casting and forging processes mainly include two categories: casting and forging; in addition, there is also a casting and forging composite process, which combines the advantages of both, first casting the blank and then partially forging, taking into account both precision and performance.
Use sand mold as a casting mold, pour molten metal into it, and obtain castings after cooling. Low cost, strong adaptability, suitable for single or small batch production, but low precision and surface finish, often used for large or complex parts.
Use wax molds to make ceramic shells, heat and dewax and pour metal, castings with high precision and fine surface, can produce complex precision parts (such as aerospace parts), but the process is cumbersome and the cost is high.
Pouring metal in a thin shell mold made of coated sand, the casting has stable dimensions and better surface quality than sand casting, which is suitable for small and medium-sized precision parts (such as gears and crankshafts), but the mold cost is relatively high.
Use metal molds (such as steel or cast iron) instead of sand molds, which can be reused, with high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality of castings, suitable for mass production, but the mold cost is high, mostly used for small and medium-sized parts such as aluminum alloys and copper alloys.
Using foam plastic molds instead of traditional models, it disappears when pouring and does not need to be demolded. It is suitable for complex structural parts and reduces processing allowances, but it has strict process control requirements and is prone to defects such as pores.
Inject molten metal into metal molds at high speed and high pressure, quickly form, high production efficiency, accurate size, smooth surface, suitable for thin-walled complex parts (such as zinc, aluminum, magnesium alloys), but the equipment investment is large, generally used for mass production.
The metal billet is deformed by impact or pressure between the upper and lower anvils. There is no closed mold cavity and the tools are simple. It is suitable for large or single-piece forgings (such as shafts and rings), but the precision is low and the processing allowance is large.
The metal is formed in a closed mold cavity. The forging has high precision, continuous fiber structure, and excellent mechanical properties. It is suitable for mass production of complex-shaped parts (such as automobile connecting rods and gears), but the mold cost is high and the equipment requirements are strict.
Casting: Molding with liquid metal filling the mold, suitable for complex components, commonly used materials include cast iron (such as gray cast iron, ductile iron), cast steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, etc.
Forging: Refining grains and improving strength through solid metal plastic deformation, mostly using carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy and some aluminum alloy/copper alloy, suitable for high-strength components (such as shafts, gears).
Cast Iron
Steel
Aluminum Alloy
Copper Alloy
Casting is suitable for a variety of metal materials, mainly including:
Cast iron : has good casting performance, wear resistance and shock absorption, and is widely used in mechanical bases, pipelines, automotive parts, etc.
vermicular cast iron
malleable cast iron
Cast steel : high strength and good toughness, suitable for high temperature resistant, corrosion resistant or high load parts, such as gears, valves, mining machinery, etc.
Cast Aluminum alloy : lightweight, corrosion resistant, good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, widely used in automobiles, aerospace, electronics and other fields.
aluminum silicon alloy
aluminum copper alloy
aluminum magnesium alloy
Copper alloy : wear resistance, corrosion resistance, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, suitable for bearings, valve parts, electrical components, etc.
bronze
brass
nickel silver
Other alloys : suitable for special industries, such as aerospace, medical, 3C electronics, etc.
magnesium alloy
zinc alloy
titanium alloy
Forging is mainly suitable for metals with good plasticity, including:
Forging Carbon steel & alloy steel (such as 20#, 45#, 40Cr, 42CrMo, etc.):
Forging can improve strength, toughness and fatigue life, suitable for high-strength parts such as shafts, gears, connecting rods, etc.
Stainless steel (304, 316, 420, etc.):
Corrosion-resistant and high-temperature-resistant, suitable for forgings in the chemical, food, medical equipment and other industries.
Forging Aluminum alloy (such as 6061, 7075, etc.):
After forging, the mechanical properties can be improved, and it is used for lightweight structural parts in aviation and automobiles.
Copper alloy (such as H62 brass, QSn6.5-0.1 tin bronze, etc.):
After forging, the density is improved, and it is suitable for precision instruments, ship accessories, etc.
Titanium alloy (such as TC4):
Used for high-end aviation, medical implants, etc., but the forging process requirements are relatively high.
