Hello! I'm a first-year PhD student based at the University of Glasgow, part of the CDT for Algebra, Geometry and Quantum Fields. My interests broadly include differential and low-dimensional topology; currently, I'm looking at embedded surfaces in 4-manifolds.
I am jointly supervised by Mark Powell and Brendan Owens.
Previously, I was at St John's College, Oxford. I completed my Master's Dissertation on topological obstructions to positive scalar curvature under the supervision of Jason Lotay.
I am also a Vice-Chair of the UK Linguistics Olympiad, and responsible for test development. I am a firm believer in the value of linguistic education at the school-level, in particular linguistics as a science and "Knowledge About Language". I am also responsible for training for the International Linguistics Olympiad; since assuming the role in 2022, the UK has twice won the award for the territory with the Highest Average Score.
