To protect your SIM card from others using it for phone calls or cellular data, you can use a SIM PIN. Then, every time you restart your device or remove the SIM card, your SIM card will automatically lock and you'll see "Locked SIM" in the status bar.

Never try to guess a SIM PIN or PUK code.* The wrong guess can permanently lock your SIM card, and then you would need a new SIM card. If your device asks for a PIN or code that you don't know, here's what to do:

Sim Card Puk Locked T Mobile

If you still have the sim card holder the puk code is on it otherwise you're going to need to contact Tmobile support using messenger on one of tmobile's social media platforms to see if they can help you.

If you purchased your device from Metro by T-Mobile or if you have a Metro by T-Mobile authorized device, please follow the steps outlined below to determine your eligibility for device unlocking. In order to unlock a mobile wireless device that is not sold or authorized by Metro by T-Mobile, you need to contact the mobile carrier or manufacturer that sold you the device.

Some devices cannot be remotely unlocked by Metro by T-Mobile. In these cases, Metro by T-Mobile will send a notification to the device within two business days of it becoming eligible, with next steps to complete the unlock process.

Most of the SIM cards and phones get blocked or locked after the wrong PIN is entered thrice. In cases where a T-Mobile gets blocked, as a result of a wrong security code, a PUK code for T-Mobile will be needed to unlock it.

Many of the advanced phones such as the GSM phones and modern smart cards have a very good feature of security lock. This feature, in common parlance, is known as the Security Code or Personal Identification Number (often abbreviated as a PIN). The basic intention of putting up such a code for the cell phones is to prevent their misuse. This Security Code or PIN code is basically a password that is used by the user of the cell phones in order to secure his phone. Without entering the code, it is not possible to access the functions of the phone.

A PUK code to unblock SIM card is basically a 4 to 8 digit number or code. This code is also known as the PIN Unlock code or PIN unlock key. This code can be used to unlock both the SIM card and also the phone. If you enter the wrong PUK code, then depending upon the SIM card and mobile phone, either the SIM card or the phone will get locked.

T-Mobile is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG and operates in the United States. The company is basically a provider of telecommunications network, and caters to the needs of millions of SIM card users, world wide. Apart from the SIM card usage, there are several different mobiles which have the default service of T-Mobile.

Assurance Wireless makes no guarantee that an unlocked device will work on another carrier's network. Whether another carrier will accept and activate a device is subject to that carrier's policies and capabilities. Additionally, unlocking a device may enable some functionality of the device but not all (e.g., an unlocked device may support voice services but not data services when activated on a different network). Not all devices are capable of being unlocked.

Assurance Wireless will automatically unlock eligible devices if it is technically possible for us to do so. For any device that cannot be remotely unlocked, Assurance Wireless will send a notification to the device when it becomes eligible with next steps to complete the unlock process. If you need help with device unlocking, please contact Assurance Wireless Customer Care at 1-888-321-5880.

These devices are not capable of being SIM unlocked. Assurance Wireless may be able to provide a Master Subsidy Lock ("MSL") code to eligible customers. The MSL code was utilized with many devices manufactured prior to February 2015. While Assurance Wireless can provide the MSL code to eligible customers, this does not mean that device will be accepted by another carrier or interoperate with another carrier's network. Whether another carrier will accept and activate a device is subject to that carrier's policies and capabilities.

The easiest way to tell if your SIM card is no longer active is if you completely lose service on your phone. You may receive a text message stating the SIM card for your number has been changed, and to call customer service if you didn't make the change. But with your SIM card no longer active, you won't be able to place a call from your phone -- not even to customer service (more on this below).

Once you realize you've lost service on your mobile device, call your carrier immediately and let them know you didn't make the changes. The carrier will help you recover access to your phone number. I can't emphasize this enough -- do not wait to call. The longer someone has access to your phone number, the more damage they can do.

You'll also want to reach out to your banks and credit card companies, and double-check all of your online accounts to make sure that the perpetrator hasn't changed your passwords or made any fraudulent transactions. If you find transactions that aren't yours, call your bank or visit a branch right away and explain the situation.

If you have a SIM card PIN enabled on your phone to access data on the SIM card, but you repeatedly enter it incorrectly, the SIM card may lock you out from further attempts. You can reset the SIM card, using what's called a personal unlock code, or PUK code, which you can usually obtain from your phone carrier.

You can set a SIM PIN code to prevent people from accessing data such as contacts stored on the SIM card without your permission, even if they physically have your phone and then steal the card. This is separate from a passcode or a biometric lock you might set on the phone itself, since it's designed to protect the data on the SIM, not the phone.

On an Android phone, you can set a SIM PIN, using the Settings menu. Tap the Settings app on your home screen, then tap to go to the "Security" or "Fingerprints and Security" submenu. Tap "Set up SM Card Lock" and select "Lock SIM Card" to lock the card. Generally, you'll have to enter the existing default SIM lock PIN, which you can obtain from your phone maker or carrier, although you can change it afterward, through the same menu.

If you enter the wrong SIM card PIN repeatedly, your SIM card will lock as an added security measure. This prevents someone from simply guessing every possible PIN to access your data if they steal your phone or SIM card.

Once the SIM card is locked, you will need to use a separate code called a PUK code to unlock it. Your carrier can provide you with the PUK code for your SIM card. You can sometimes find this on your carrier's website after you log in, and you can usually also obtain it by calling customer service or taking the phone to a carrier store. Once you have the PUK code, you can enter it and reset your SIM PIN to one you know.

If you don't know the SIM card's PUK code, don't try to guess it. The SIM card can become permanently locked and need to be replaced, potentially losing your data, if you repeatedly enter an incorrect PUK code.

If you purchased your device from Sprint, please follow the steps outlined below to determine your eligibility for device unlocking. In order to unlock a mobile device that is not sold or authorized by Sprint, you need to contact the mobile carrier or manufacturer who sold you the device.

Some devices cannot be remotely unlocked by Sprint. In these cases, Sprint will send a notification to the device within two business days of it becoming eligible, with next steps to complete the unlock process.

For inactive devices, customers must contact Sprint Customer Care to request that their unlock-capable device be unlocked and may have to take steps to perform an over-the-air update to ensure the unlock programming has been relayed to the device. Additional validation may be required to ensure eligibility.

Sprint makes no guarantee that an unlocked device will work on another carrier's network. Whether another carrier will accept and activate a device is subject to that carrier's policies and capabilities. Additionally, unlocking a device may enable some functionality of the device but not all (e.g., an unlocked device may support voice services but not data services when activated on a different network). Please also note that Sprint devices which the owner has attempted to reprogram or activate on another carrier's network or otherwise altered from its initial programming or settings may not be able to be reactivated on the Sprint network.

Note 8. T mobile won't help me unlock the cell nor give me ANY advice as to how I sim locked it or how to recover from it. I have 2 party verification thru Samsung. Try to factory reset. Gotta type in my pass. Okay I do that. But guess what. It sends a code to my phone that I can not get into.

Usually, a SIM comes with a default PIN code directly from your mobile carrier. These codes vary company by company, but for Sprint and T-Mobile, it is 1234, and for AT&T and Verizon, you can try 1111. You can either Google these codes or call your carrier support and ask for the codes.

Each operator has a default passcode, usually 1111, 0000, or 1234. I googled this for AT&T and Verizon, and both said 1111, so on my phone, I used 1111, and it worked both times. Now, if the SIM was locked previously and then unlocked using a PUK code, then the default PIN will change to 0000 for Verizon. So keep that in mind if your SIM was locked previously and google your carrier's default PIN after a PUK unlock.

Now, if you ever forget your SIM lock code, you can still unlock it with a PUK code, a PIN Unlock Key different for every SIM card. Sometimes You can find the PUK on the original SIM card if you still have the business card-sized piece of plastic, or you can call your service provider and request the PUK, which can take some time for them to provide, but when you get the PUK you can unlock your SIM and start over.
