Skaydi Grossberndt has been offering tutoring in a variety of subjects since they wer in middle school, first working with younger students on elementary mathematics and preparation for the NY State standardized exams. While taking their first college courses in the summer between their freshman and sophomore years of high school, Skaydi began tutoring other students in their class, eventually leading to them leading small group sessions of 5-10 people before class. Since that point, Skaydi has expanded their tutoring services to include standardized tests, first focusing on SAT/ACT, the latter of which Skaydi recieved a 36 upon (99.98th percentile), then as they took more exams, expanding into the AP tests. Skaydi graduated high school with an advanced regents diploma with honors as well as an AP international diploma and matriculated at Columbia University as a member of the Columbia College Class of 2018.
At Columbia, Skaydi studied physics and mathematics, graduating in December of 2017 with a dual major in the two fields and with advanced graduate coursework. Skaydi continued to tutor through this time, working with Varsity tutors, Chegg/Instaedu and Coursehero, as well as being one of the earliest tutors for both Gooroo tutors and Book and Table. In this time, Skaydi had students from elementary school to college level, teaching physics up to and including Quantum Mechanics, simple and advanced mathematics, competition (AMC/AIME/PUMAC) mathematics, astrophysics, symbolic logic, French, Latin and continuing to tutor standardized tests.
Upon graduation, Skaydi moved to Geneva, Switzerland for 3 months where they were engaged in work to upgrade the Large Hadron Collider. Since that time, they have worked for the US Patent and Trademark office, leaving there to pursue a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the City University of New York. Skaydi is currently engaged in research to better understand the strong nuclear force, using mathematical and computational tools. Skaydi has been continuing to tutor, in a mix of online and in person sessions, and is currently developing courses for Gooroo's live courses, focusing on alternative approaches to mathematics education.
