Overview
SignalCheck is a local network diagnostics tool. It measures the state of your network connection — signal strength, latency, DNS performance, and public IP — entirely on your device. We do not operate a backend, collect analytics, or transmit any of your data to third-party services.
Data we collect
SignalCheck does not collect, store, or share any personal data. All measurements (signal history, ping results, DNS results, heatmap readings) are stored exclusively in local app storage on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
Network access
The app makes outbound network calls only for the diagnostic operations you explicitly start: pinging a host you specify, fetching your public IP from a well-known endpoint (ipapi.co), running DNS lookups, or loading legal pages. No background network traffic is initiated without your action.
Location permission (Android)
Android requires the Location permission to expose the WiFi network name (SSID) and BSSID to third-party apps. SignalCheck requests this permission solely for that purpose. Your physical location is never read, stored, or transmitted.
Camera & photo library
These permissions are requested only if you choose to attach a screenshot to a support message. Images are not stored by the app beyond the duration of that action.
Third-party services
SignalCheck uses no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services. The only external network calls are the ones you initiate (see "Network access" above).
Children's privacy
SignalCheck is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be available inside the app with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after that date constitutes acceptance.
